China and their ‘Jack Ma Problem’
Well, maybe not a problem any more. Ma has not been seen in public for more than two months and now, reportedly, he appears to be missing in private as well. Ma has been very outspoken about China and their regulations for years but has really amped up the negative pr the past six months or so. This would be ballsy even for the CCP.

COVID-19 2nd wave - Texas only - Stats and such
I wonder what the procedure is in a few weeks when they need their booster. Do they get to skip the line again or do they just hope there’s reserves this time around too?

This thread should take an interesting turn if/when ND gets blown out by 30+ Friday night.

I know Big Cigar and Shuttlesworth are real because Nick Saban has been the coach at Texas for the last seven years just like they promised he would be back in 2013.

NFL Week 16
The Jets winning these last two games probably cost them 10-15 wins over the course of the next two seasons.

Tacos
The play at West Woods is to wait out the grocery restriction which runs underneath it for another 3-4 years. Why spend a lot of time and money chasing quality tenants today when you’re just a few years away from landing a Whole Foods or CM, or relocating Trader Joe’s down the street? You basically increase your rental rates 20% overnight with a bunch of national credit tenants who suddenly have to be in the shopping center.

The movie you just watched
Dad?? I was just coming here to post the same thing. I too, rented Greenland last night. It was one of the few movies I wanted to see pre-Covid so I didn’t mind throwing down $20 to stream. Like most in its category, it dragged some in the middle, but overall worth the money. And intense is the perfect word for it. The overall “anarchy” feel of it was tough to watch unfold. Unfortunately, it’s probably how things would actually go down in a similar event. I enjoyed the ending as well. You don’t see many disaster movies with that type of ending. Overall, probably a B.

2020-21 Winter weather; bring it on
The first half of this week is how I wish every Central Texas winter day would look and feel. Near freezing in the AM, sunny and mid-50s in the afternoon. @phdhorn, this is your yearly it’s-10-days-out-now-please-tell-us-it’s-not-going-to-be-hot-again-for-Christmas post. Can we expect dustings of snow in Bee Cave while Austin proper sees more record heat?

Annnnnndddd it’s another realignment thread. Good work everyone.- UFOs spotted off Irish coast
I was in camp “no UFOs/aliens/wherever exist” until the US government quietly, but very officially, came out and said “yeah, there’s a lot of videos and reports of crazy things we can’t even comprehend which we encounter often but they are verifiable and there not explainable”.- Jets just did the most jets thing even for 2020
Woody gonna' Woody and extend Gase.- Tegna - AT&T Dispute
Forgot U-verse dropped Redzone too. I’ll be done with them in 2021 too.- Tegna - AT&T Dispute
AT&T has dropped over sixty stations nationwide in an ongoing dispute with Tegna. Locally, KVUE is now off-air through Uverse/DirectTV. Additionally, there are crawls on both KXAN and Fox7 too although I am not certain they are related. Nearly every major market in the country lost at least one network channel through these services. More than half of this nation's traditional cable subscribers remain and many of them don't need much more of a push to make the perma switch to YoutubeTV, HuluTV, etc. The last few years haven't exactly been gangbusters for the cable companies viewership models. Aside from the streaming services who likely see a huge boon, I can't imagine either side actually wins anything during these disputes, right?- Who Knew Biff Was A Tuba Player?
