  1. with SAT/ACT scores being so devalued by colleges (Univ of California System doesn't even look at them), your GPA, class rank, class rigor, and your essay have become more emphasized. As far as taking less AP classes, I am pretty sure my son's class rank would have been lower had he not loaded up on AP classes. Every other motivated kid is maxing out, you gotta keep up. of course if your child is getting a C (or even a bunch of Bs) in an AP courses, you should scale back and try to find a balance. Not easy when you essentially have 3 years to build one's academic resume. i won't say that the counselor is wrong, but i would be wary.
  2. kick out the jams, motherfuckers
  3. and salaries for the clergy and staff, paying the utilities, outreach programs, travel costs, yes.. but you are saying i should expect my tithing to go to the minister's wife hair stylist for the tune of $100K and to the minister's lawyers in order to juggle his multiple trials? maybe i am naive, but i dont think that is going on at my church. Apparently you have experienced something different at yours.. Care to elaborate?
  4. This. I give money to a PAC and it can be used to pay to pay for lavish lifestyle of the candidate and his spouse? It can be used to pay for the legal fees of a private citizen? i failed to see where the P in Political Action Committee falls into the above? This is like a fraudulent Go Fund Me scheme.
  5. *never mind.. the point i was making has been covered already.
  6. Alcaraz off to Juventus on loan. No way Juventus buy him for £40m this summer. He should be back with the Saints in the 2024/2025 season. He has a lot of potential, but young.
  7. ooops. well i missed seeing Charles Barkley on the list. I know he was considered conservative in say 2001, but now? However, in 2006, he altered his political stance, stating "I was a Republican until they lost their minds." In July 2007, he made a video declaring his support for Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election. IN 2014, Barkley declared himself an Independent and not a Democrat as previously reported. "The Republicans are full of it", Barkley said, "The Democrats are a little less full of it."
  8. their is only one person of color on that list.. Kanye West / Ye haha.
  9. David Brooks: Bournemouth winger joins Southampton on loan https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68148820 thinking he might have a pretty good impact on our automatic promotion chances.
  10. That intersection is my jam. scares me to think of how much of my lifetime has been dedicated to waiting for that light to turn green.
  11. a GOP congresswoman forgot how she voted on bills she's bragged about, but actually opposed https://www.yahoo.com/news/watch-moment-gop-congresswoman-forgot-154805744.html This shit needs to be called out by local /regional journalists during this election cycle, because there will be more of it for sure. House Republicans have literally nothing to run on. Nothing. They haven't done shit. Just ask Chip Roy. "I want my Republican colleagues to give me one thing—one—that I can go campaign on and say we did. One!”
  12. Velvet Underground - European Son That beautiful guitar roar at 0:57, holy jesus, that blew my mind as a college freshman when I heard it in the mid 80s. Cant imagine what people thought of it in 1967.
  13. Deep cut here... Mercury Rev "Chasing a Bee" The guitar moment at 3:03 is so intense. Play it loud. It's like a huge bomb going off, you can literally feel/hear the shockwave. I consider it beautiful anyway.
  14. I vote for a small branch bank.... definitely not enough of those in that area. 😋
  15. kneeling between two parked cars seems on brand.
  16. What result will lead to less Patrick Mahomes on my TV set? I will root for that result.
  17. FA Cup Watford 1 - 1 Southampton Stuart Armstrong with a late goal equalizer in the 89th minute 22 match unbeaten streak in all competitions (last loss was sept 23rd) replay sometime during the week of feb 6th Southampton / Watford draw Liverpool in the next round. Oh boy.
