I've been on/off from home for years. BUT I'm in sales so I'm on calls and Teams/Zoom calls all the F'ing time so that helps. Just being locked inside and working on projects or something would probably drive me crazy. I think it helps to belong to a gym (for all kinds of reasons) because it gets you out and with people. I mean, in the end I'm a very social person who suffers from some FOMO so I can't stay locked inside. That's why I love the live music scene in Austin and I have no problem going to shows by myself or cajoling friends to go.
Sorry... I'm close to a million miles and I still find air travel magical. Yes, its not glamorous but whatever. It takes me to new places.
And besides, people talk about "the good ole days" but forget smokers on planes. I took an Iberia flight in 1998 or 1999 and I sat one row from the smoking section. Somehow the smoke did not stay on their side. It was grand.
So Mumford came on the other day on SirusXM. I never listen to Mumford because no. Anyway, I thought, "maybe I should listen to it for a second and revisit the music" so I turned up the volume and, WTF. No. Really. Why?
Yeah, this summer has bene totally tolerable. 98? 99? Ok. 100? Yeah kind of sucks but its not 105 or 107 day after day. Assuming the source I saw was correct, the hottest temperature this summer in Texas was 103. The highest in the state. If real, that's a cakewalk summer.
To be fair, any school district with money (or in a property rich area) is getting screwed. Even Eanes. I suspect not everyone in Eanes is a CEO or cryptoking.
Mind you, I'm in AISD so not in Eanes. We get our own special kind of screwing over.
Off topic... back to racists.
Interesting schtick and they're talented... sort of a 70s funk/prog Rock/blue-eyed soul sound. They played a 40 minute set and while they were good, I was kind of ready to turn the page at 30 minutes.
As for Babe Rainbow, Angus was sober and they all sounded great. Start of their US tour from Australia and they were great!
Its called the GFS crying wolf. People love to post individual model runs or other scary pictures as clickbait and to drive engagement. When someone posts, "hey, look what's happening in two weeks", no one knows. Its too far our to be remotely accurate.

Man, I know what the numbers say but I also know what all four of us in the family felt this past weekend I used to say the same shit when I Iived in Houston and I'm telling you it feels absolutely more comfortable in Austin. Breeze in Houston was non existent this weekend. Nice wind tonight in SW Austin.
That said, every time I go to POST I say it's one of the best things Houston has done in years.
Not going to agree with you there. Austin food is better than it used to be. Leaps and bounds better than it used to be. But it has a long way to go to catch Houston. Now, I'm lazy and don't want to go too far so I know I'm missing out on places further north but I've had some damn good pho up north of 183 and great Persian closer to Anderson Lane and 183 but its not the same set up as Houston. Austin definitely kills it when it comes to food trucks but I will kill to find a truck like this close to me in Austin - https://share.google/7vmRMoUzFC4gbgkEo
