1. Budapest Hotel. A masterpiece IMO and the only Anderson movie that has historical relevance (WW2/ Nazis) 2. Zissou. Movie gets me 3. Tenebaums 4. Fantastic Fox 5. Moonrise 6. Bottle Rocket 7. Darjeeling 8. isle dogs 9. Rushmore
Can’t wait. The Grand Budapest Hotel was pretty close to perfection for me, so I’m curious how this turns out. Read that it has some Steve Zissou vibes which makes me pretty excited. Easily his most underrated film
It’s funny how much better the Wandavison duo and Loki/Morbius are than Falcon and WS. I guess that’s the difference between Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Hiddleston, OW and whoever plays Falcon and WS
He frustrates me to no end. He should easily be the #1 next gen guy, been saying it for years, incredible talent. But for whatever reason he believes he’s a 6’11” serve-bot that must hit a winner as quickly as possible. He should be a blend of Federer’s attacking game and Nadal’s lefty defense/offense. He’s 6’0” and can move, no need to play offense on every single shot. I get that he has the power to be an offensive player and doesn’t want to run around the court all match, but he’s got to find that middle ground. Seems like he’s taken a nice step forward here. Federer got demolished. Yikes
Federer’s draw is such a cupcake. Kind of bizarre. Now he’s going to get the only men’s player without a day of rest (Medvedev or Hurkacz) on Wednesday.
Tsitsipas game is by far the cleanest. But bottom line is that Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are able to hit the ball with above average pace and not miss at a rate that is absolutely unreal and has never been seen before. Not to mention they’ve all forced themselves to be great at all parts of the game. They mentioned a few times how Djokovic spent the last year spending a hugely disproportionate amount of time working on his drop shot… most important point of the match, down set point in set 3 and he pulls it out perfectly
I feel like POS as a human is a stretch…. Unless I’m missing some serious off court issues. I can’t begin to compare him to a Tiger Woods who was the biggest asshole on the course, outside the course, was a habitual cheater, and was fucked up a few months ago when he crashed his car double the speed limit.
I don’t think it’s debatable anymore. But I’ve felt the past two years it was inevitable he would end up as the GOAT. Now he has most weeks at #1, two wins at RG over Nadal, winning record over both and likely steamrolling to another GS. And he’s the youngest of them. I’m guessing he ends at 23-25 GS, Nadal at 21 or 22 and Federer at 21
