Must, must, must, IMO is a tasting/tour/lunch at the Cantina del Vesuvio winery. Make a reservation. It’s about 10 mins from Pompeii, highly recommend doing this if you are in the area. Great food, great wine, great views.
Going in July but for 5 nights only, trying to decide if going up the coast for a couple nights is worth it or just spend all 5 in Lisboa. Anyone have an opinion? Mercado da Ribeira food market and a few other places already on the agenda. This thread is great.
I’ll say this about the Champs-elysees…one of the things I recommend most in Paris is hiking to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. As mentioned it’s a brutally long spiral staircase where you’ll pass a lot of frenchies with smoker lungs on the way up, but on a nice day the the views are just incredible.
Unlikely to be “hot” which is nice because many airbnb’s don’t have A/C. Most likely this time of year it will be mild and nice, but has potential to be cold and miserable as fuck. Just be sure to check the forecast leading up till when you leave so you can pack for contingencies. I went late March 2018 and it was very nice, sunny with highs between 15-20 Celsius (60-68 F). Just about perfect weather for walking many miles per day (which we preferred). Zero bugs in that climate. Went back last year over a ~10 day period late March to early April, and it was everything from the same mild and sunny all the way down to one day when it fucking snowed, sleeted, wind was howling, and that was in Paris. Apparently Paris hadn’t had snow in years. When we went to Normandy the next day and got to pointe du hoc the wind was blowing 35mph with 50+ gusts and we got sprayed from the crashing waves…which oh btw are at the top of 100+ foot high cliffs. Temps were about 5 Celsius before wind chill factored in. Awesome place though and worth it no matter the weather. I love France.
So Ferrari makes a lot of off-season changes and names a new team principal and we got all the way to Q3 of the first race before some drama. I really want to like this team.
Did you all ever own the DVD collection? I don't remember if it was a CC option or an audio overlay but I liked the feature that either showed on the subtitles or through Larry David or Jerry explaining certain references and what they meant.
