Texas athletes petitioning University to replace "The Eyes of Texas" and to no longer require athletes to sing it
Really? You and I see steeped in racism differently. I'm all for BLM, I marched over 3 hours a couple of Sunday's ago and I'm old. I remember when R L Moore Hall was built and named the PMA (Physics, Math, Astronomy) building and yes as a math major I knew R L Moore was a racist and when they named the PMA after him it was controversial and written up in the Daily Texan. I'm in favor of all of the demands except for ending The Eyes of Texas.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2021
Have you ever been to a Texas game? I've had season tickets since 1971 and individual players are NOT required to sing the Eyes.

Bye bye Luby's
When I was a kid we would drive the 40 miles from a small rural east Town to Tyler to shop and my mom always took us to Luby's. She loved that place and so did I. LuAnn with fried fish and mac and cheese. After moving to Austin in '71 I used to go to the one at Twin Oaks shopping center which is catty corner to the HEB at Oltorf and Congress.Yes, I go way back. Then the new one at Oltorf and 35 opened and we went there for years. Haven't been to a Luby's in almost a decade though. Good memories though.

Time to Oust Cornyn
You speak for the body of the Church of Christ? The ones that I know who are members now are full blown Trumpsters and they are even more anti-higher education and anti-science than they were in the 50's and 60's when I was attending. Oh, they are okay with you going to Abilene Christian. On a side note, Churches of Christ are closing and losing membership in record numbers as the older folks pass and younger generations reject their messages.

Time to Oust Cornyn
Cornyn is a member of the Church of Christ, which is the church I grew up in a small town near Tyler, population 3000. He and I are the same age and many many of these church members are perfect for today's Republican party. They are anti-higher education. I remember the older members of my church say don't send your children to college because they will lose the faith. I agree that Cornyn is safe for this election. It is Texas and while his opponent has yet to be chosen, it will probably be Hegar and just being a woman will cost her critical voting percentages. People complain all day long about their Congressman but then vote for the incumbent. Rural Texas hates "libtards" and will vote for anyone with an R in front of their name. I don't think Cornyn will run again since he would be 74 at the time of his re-election in 2026 and enough of my generation, the baby boomers, will have passed that Texas should be competitive then. If Hispanics and millennials would vote Texas could go blue this year but I'm not counting on it.

Trump - Why I still support him ! #maga

3/15 Debate Thread - Joe Biden's CNN Coronation?
Abrams lost in Georgia, a red state and voter suppression was the reason. I think she will be the VP nominee.

Carpetbagging weasel faced smarmy little bitch, Ted Cruz
He isn't following the advice of the guy who said he has an ugly wife by going back to work? Trump said you can go back to work and get better.

Texas 2020 general election
In the presidential Republican primary the vote total is 2,000,619 with 71,359 uncommitted. In the presidential Democratic primary the vote total is 1,812,552. Your Dems 1,620,224 is from the Dem senate total. Point is the statewide total between the parties is closer than your post indicates.

2020 Democratic Nominee
She has a great story and what a fighter. I wish she was winning too. Her moving to the left with MFA hurt her imo.

Does anyone know what year this is from?
I watched it on TV and when Georgia punted I stood up and started waving my hands and yelling don't catch it. I'll never get over it.

Texas 2020 general election
Travis county is doing a great job of getting out the vote. 99,000 have voted as of yesterday, 80,000 in the Democratic Primary and 19,000 in the Republican one, 12% of the registered voters.

Texas 2020 general election
https://earlyvoting.texas-election.com/Elections/getElectionDetails.do In the first 3 days 277,032 people have voted in the Texas Republican primary compared to 211,817 in the Democratic primary. That is 57% to 43% in favor of republicans. I live in Austin but keep up with my east Texas county where I grew up, Van Zandt: Republican votes: 1073 Democratic votes: 98 😖

2020 Senate Elections
I wish it were enough. Winning Bexar and Harris 54-42 isn't enough with rural counties going 20-80. Too many smaller counties so the Republican victories add up and the totals put Republicans in.

2020 Dems: Nevada (gonna make Iowa look competent!)
Oh really?

Too late to register to vote in the March 3, Super Tuesday primary; however, you should register to vote for all Democratic candidates in November.
