Farm Tags + Change Trailer Registration
Because I never paid sales tax in the first place? If I sold it, the buyer would have to pay sales tax to get it registered, so my thinking is that they'd want to recapture that money if I re-registered it. Like rollback taxes on real property. I'm probably overthinking it.

The Gun Owner’s thread
They are both pretty light field guns, so they will both kick pretty good. Probably not something you want to shoot hundreds of rounds with all weekend. Both are also pretty new models, so it's hard to say about reliability. Both companies are owned by Beretta, so service is probably pretty good for either, but not Beretta level. Both are also more known for SA's than OU's. If it were me and I had to choose between the two, I'd buy the Franchi and save $1000. Not sure what you are getting for the extra $$$ from Benelli except for the looks. I also think the Franchi is a lot prettier (love that POW stock), but that's personal choice.

I posted this on the Help forum but some of you deer lease guys might know the answer, so crossposting here: Thanks, assholes.

Farm Tags + Change Trailer Registration
I have an old tandem axle utility trailer that I originally bought new a few years ago for legitimate agricultural use and registered it with farm tags. I'd like to reregister it now for general use so I can take it to the deer lease and avoid getting a dumb ticket. The trailer is titled and I have a copy of the BOS so the proof of ownership paperwork isn't an issue. Recognize that this is all semantics and the primary issue is money. Two questions: 1.) I know the main task is getting right on the sales tax. What is the basis they will use and how will it be calculated? 100% of the original sales price? 2.) The net weight of the trailer is 1600# and that's all that's on the title. The GVWR is actually 10,000# but none of my documents say that. The threshold for inspection is 4,000#. Are they going to make me get it inspected before I can reregister it (unlike farm tags)? Just want to have an idea what to expect so I can minimize the time waiting at the tax office if I can instead of making multiple trips.

I have a deposit down now for one for MSRP in Lubbock, which is where I wanted to buy in the first place. Should be here in November.

Jeez Louise. I bought my current Pro-FXT in 2018 at Kawasaki of Pasadena which is now out of business. I paid 10% *under* MSRP. Mainland in LaMarque wants 25% over sticker + TTL to drive it off. Freedom in Fort Worth wants about the same. Shouldn't be that surprised but I am. This economy is terrible right now and all the funny money is finally catching up to us.

Thank you. That's kind of what I suspected. Gone are the days when the lots were full and the deals were plentiful. Just wanted to check. Dealer in Lubbock has two in stock on his website. I guess I'll call him today and haggle a tiny bit and then buy it over the phone and go pick up next week when I'm out there.

Four seat side by side options
Has anyone purchased a Mule lately? I'm thinking about moving my current Camo Mule chicken wagon out to the ranch and replacing it with a nicer Ranch Edition (irony!) like @markstanco's. Question is, how is the buying process nowadays? Competitive at all or just MSRP like buying a new car right now? When I bought my current Mule I just called around comparing prices, so I would prefer to do that but if all they're going to say is "MSRP" when I call I might as well save myself the trouble. Looks like there is some inventory floating around, but not a lot.

This is a decent deer for Scurry County. A little bit young, but he's definitely got the pose down for venturing in front of the camera. That dang feeder is becoming the busiest pickup bar in town these days. I'm getting alerts every five minutes once the sun goes down each night.

Well, the good news for you is that if the GW goes off of your username he has now narrowed it down to about 1.5 million people living in and around Lafayette. So I think you're good for now. .

To paraphrase a point that was made in another unrelated thread, this team is really good with 11 AM starts. It the post 1:30 PM finishes that they seem to struggle with.

Our teenage sons must know each other. Mine does that "you're old" shit whenever I talk about playing football back in the "old days". 30 years ago. He thinks we wore leather helmets and had no medical care at all.

Best part was how you could tell on TV that he was originally going to the receiver underneath and changed his mind and chucked it downfield when Lamb came open out of the frame. Really fun to see.
