Looking at my post above we outrushed Bama on 6 fewer attempts but fell a slight 1500 yards short passing on 20 less attempts. I wonder what we should have emphasized more?
I had to look it up after this comment.
We had 7 games this year with less than 35 rushing attempts. Bama in 2020 had 3.
In both seasons the offense had two games with over 40 pass attempts, but Bama exceeded 35 rushing attempts in both while Texas was below 35 in both with the egregious 18 in that pathetic performance against Washington.
Saban most definitely told Sark to run the damn ball. The swings in game plan from game to game this year also show absolutely zero offensive identity. Bama was pretty consistent across the board from week to week.
Exactly which results are we trying to repeat with Sarks process?
And claiming a team playing for the national title will suck next year so their Coach probably sucks is one of the most aggy things ever.
Exactly my opinion. As I pointed out in the bowl thread, J Brooks had the only two TDs of the game for us on 8 total touches. How does our dipshit coaching staff not ride that guy for at least double that amount of touches?
Bijan should have had over 2000 total yards but we went Jack Pardee run and shoot in too many games.
Sark is the football analog to Shaka Smart. Capable of amassing a ton of talent but incapable of game day coaching.
Maybe, but he couldn't find running room either when given the chance. His TD was technically a long handoff, but not running between the tackles.
He had 2 TDS in 8 touches. full stop.
I’m pissed because he was never given an actual chance to establish anything. If our idiot fucking coach can’t figure out that 14 carries by RBs (and K Rob barely fits that description) versus 47 (53?) pass attempts is a losing formula every time then he will never win anything.
He needs an actual OC to focus on running the offense. He gets severe tunnel vision.
Sark decided to let Brooks ride the pine and let Ewers play run and shoot football and completely abandoned the running game just like he did in every loss this year. He hasn’t learned anything.
He is a small fast guy that gets bumped off of routes pretty easily but was incredibly misused because we really only had 2 WRs and one just completed his first healthy season. He is lightning quick and the moves he pulled on a few of those TDs were jaw dropping.
We need him on this team for his experience in the system and consistency. He is excellent as a 2 or 3 WR but not the go to guy. I really hope JWhitt comes back because we need his seniority in that room.
I was just curious what the reaction to his switch to 1 was. He’s always been 8 right? Johntay seems like the type to brush that off. But I seriously have to question the motivation.
I stopped reading the Athletic so stopped paying for the subscription but this was one of the best pieces they ever penned. If anyone can copy and paste it it belongs here. I’m sure it may be in this thread somewhere already.
