Exactly what I have thought all day long. Sick of watching us flounder but seeing Texas HS players owning the playoffs.
How the hell did we screw this up so badly?
They just use the Tyson method of throwing haymakers coming out of the corner. It works against most, but not against the other true heavy weights typically.
I look at offensive play calling a lot like boxing. Most of it is left jabs with a few right crosses mixed in. Once you lull them to sleep with the rythym of those, you bite their ear off.
Maybe I don't know boxing so well, but you get the point. Do what you do, but land the surprise at the right time. Rythym is everything
I literally remembered 15 minutes ago that we played yesterday so came here to check the status. I saw the Fire Shaka thread at the top of the board and knew the answer.
I haven't watched the first minute of Texas Basketball this year. I used to watch almost every game.
I've liked Lashlee since his time at Auburn. I think he was collateral damage there. He seemed like a good play caller, and IMO that is the biggest thing missing from the offense. That and a good TE.
Bro, your dose of reality is not what we are looking for right now. Our pets heads are falling off (have been for a decade) and everything that should work turns to shit. Each of our past 3 DCs have looked lights out their first year, then like runny dog shit for the next two years.
Everything about being a Texas fan sucks now. Not only do we suck at football, but the rest of the nation loves every second of our sucking. Our ability to do less with more is incomparable and anyone with the first drop of burnt orange blood is absolutely fucking sick of it. This is just another straw on the camels back, but it broke a long time ago.
To me one of the many indictments of this year’s coaching squad was the inability to convince Overshown that he is an OLB. Foster could probably play there too.
DL seems like one of our deepest and most talented positions. The fact that Texas can recruit elite difference makers at the DL position is my main reason for preferring 4 down over 3. Also the fact that we have average at best LBs.
Certainly I’m not the only one who thinks “that’s what she said” any time there is discussion about opened or filled slots.
Insert joke about South Austin’s mom in this slot.
It seems pretty clear that Tom has used the last page of his cracker jack psychology book and has no idea what to do next. I mean, I know it is shocking that "play / try harder" isn't the solution to our problems, and somehow slimey sloppy eggs isn't helping either. So....
