We will win out
9-4 is the bottom rung of acceptable seasons at Texas. We have now left ourselves absolutely zero margin for error to get to that record. Which is bad, because errors is what this team is best at.

Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 12)
Is anyone else sick of hearing about how much these guys love each other? I don't give two shits about who loves who as long as they can play smart football. Did Ossai and Roach decide they hated their teammates on that FG attempt? Or are they just completely uncoached on special teams?

Texas opens as a 7 point underdog @ Iowa State
You rang? If TO figures out Ossai is a rushing LB and not a NB and he stops blitzing from Indiana, we have a shot. But he won't. 4th quarter last possession ISU 3rd and 13 will receive the patented zero blitz TD play for the loss.

So...about Charlie Strong at USF...
Man, you can't say twice in one post that "baseball seems to be in good hands" when we just finished dead last in our conference and didn't even make the Big 12 tournament, much less the NCAA tournament, and have any credibility when talking about coaching.

11.11.19 Coach Herman press conference Noon
Should definitely go with Andrew Jones then.

Texas opens as a 5 favorite v Kansas State
So Texas coaches do actually lurk / post here. I thought that was just a rumor. Welcome aboard, and congrats in advance on your weekend. Whatever you are used to on offense, add 50%

11.4.19 Coach Herman press conference Noon
He had no clue that we were dead last in punt returns until the fucking media told him.

11.4.19 Coach Herman press conference Noon
Practice "went really well" with "a lot of energy" for the last 4 or 5 weeks. We see where that has gotten us. I think that the players are tuning out the coaches (ahem Eagles) but it isn't because of the way the message is relayed. It is the message. The fact that he acknowledged the rift in the locker room between classes tells me all I need to know. Too bad he wasted the BYE week, he should have made some obvious changes. I expect more of the same and 8-4 as the very best possible outcome, but I will be glad to be wrong.

I think my scenario is more likely

11.4.19 Coach Herman press conference Noon
I'm not sure why he is determined to stick to these bullshit answers about not knowing our schedule. It doesn't impress anybody, and it just is more evidence that he truly is in over his head if it is true. His little 1-0 mentality would be a whole lot cuter if he could actually accomplish it

AP Top 25
This man gets it. We should add 4 shitty teams to the conference, go to 8 conference games and all schedule 4 cupcakes and the Big 12 could transform into the SEC overnight.

Texas opens as a 5 favorite v Kansas State
It isn't just the Texas fans. Good friend who is a Gator fan tried to convince me that TCU was easy money. I tried to convince him otherwise but failed. The world in general is not aware of the dumpster fire we are watching burn.

Predict the teams in the Big 12 Championship Game
I hope he isn’t that self absorbed and stupid, but he might be. If so he is a dead man walking.

Texas Football Podcasts, Press Conferences & Interviews Thread
At 8:15 mark Mensa guarantees we make a bowl game. So we got that going for us...

They all may be stoppable forces, but we are most definitely a movable object. #iwastoldtherewouldbenophysics

Texas Recruiting Notes 2020
I keep waiting for Bijan to decommit since we only give the ball to a RB 8 or 9 times in a game, but then I remember he gets like 350 yards and 4 TDs on 8 or 9 carries right now.

2019 World Series: Houston Astros vs. Washington Nationals
He played for LSU, so...doubtful

To__ Orlan_o - _efensive Coor_inator
Maybe we should put Rod on staff. He seems to do more research than anyone we are paying to do research.

Why do we keep fucking this up?
I always wanted Mullen, he had shown the most as a head coach and seems to have it pointed in the right direction at UF. Harsin was on my short list, and will likely be the top of my list if/when we move on from Mensa.

Tom "the turtle" Herman [Lame Duck or greatest 5d chess player ever?]
There aren't many, and I have lost a lot of faith in Herman. I'm just getting old and learning to always try to find the positive. I can say as a part time Gator fan who is surrounded by Gators, that they look back on the Meyer years as quite a bit tainted. Oh sure, no one is handing back those trophies. But considering the distain they hold against FSU for the way they have run that program, they sure don't like discussing the Urban aftermath. And for what it is worth, I was just as certain of Herman's ability as I was Urban's going in.

He needs to find a senior coach to put on his staff (not GDGD) that he can lean on for advice. Adding Tomey was the best things that Mack ever did aside from signing Vince. Hand seems like one of those guys, but I can't name another one. He needs to find a DC with skins on the wall and experience. In my opinion, he has had to take time and effort away from the offense to tend to the defense. He has zero ability to fix the defense and no one on his staff to turn to that can fix it. The offense is being run by Beck based on the run / pass ratio. The special teams isn't being coached at all. I'm sure Tom feels like he is trying to fix the problems, but the bad thing is that he caused them by not shedding dead weight in the name of "continuity." I hope he is as smart as he thinks he is. He really needs some people in his ear to let him know what he is fucking up.

Same. I'm going to just go check in on the basketball baseball team. Yeah, fuck it all.

Tom "the turtle" Herman [Lame Duck or greatest 5d chess player ever?]
Yeah, this is my biggest problem with this thread. I get it, head coach at Texas comes with a million or so fans that either love you or hate you based on last Saturday. Right now I hate pretty much everything associated with Texas Football, because we are right back in the corner wearing the dunce cap for everyone to point and laugh at. Herman has made some major miscalculations like thinking Orlando was a good DC, and that Beck could call an offense, and hiring to many bros and yes men. He sure as shit better get that fixed in a hurry. This season looks to be an utter disappointment with an 8-4 ceiling. I think the jury is still out, but the negative evidence is mounting. What happens over these next 4 games will be very telling. I wanted the guy to be our coach, and I hold out hope he will learn from the shit storm that he is in the middle of. The good ones face adversity and get better. This is his first real time looking head on at adversity at Texas. This isn't Houston, and his teams will no longer be able to sneak up on people. He has to learn how hated our brand is, and keep our team from thinking they have earned anything that wasn't won on the field. Mack was able to do that for a short while and he lost his fire, I haven't seen anyone else do it here. I get it, it sucks to be a Longhorn right now, but I don't think firing the head coach fixes our program problems. I guess we will see, but Tom Herman will be our coach in 2020 no doubt.

Sam Ehlinger
He has right next to zero run game support. Not sure if that is coaching, scheme, players or all three. I will go with all three. He would be much better if we had any semblance of a run game

Tom "the turtle" Herman [Lame Duck or greatest 5d chess player ever?]
I'm not ready to fire Tom. But I am on board the fire Orlando boat. It literally can't get worse on defense. This stat line tells me that Beck is calling plays again 21 rushes by RBs. 9 rushes by our QB. 48 pass attempts (only 22 completed). This may get very ugly
