Fishing Megathread: Looking For Big Girls Who swallow
Well, in light of the last several posts, I’ll keep the pics to myself, but just returned from our Chandeleur trip. Of course the biggest front of the year blew in for day 2 of a trip planned 9 months ago. Fished Cat island in sustained 20+ Gusting over 30 yesterday with limited success. Only got to fish Chandy from 0700 to 1400 on Monday but it was everything Grigar always wrote that it was. All top water. Under 15” was only 1 to every 10 Texas/Miss slot. Probably 40% or better from 17-22”. Even a massive bull red on super spook. Cannot wait to return and I can only imagine what 2 full days would look like.

Hunting ‘23/‘24: Bag ‘em and Tag ‘em
A 6 that size is very cool and would likely win the big 6 category at Muy. One big six is really cool. A lineage of them less so

Mass Shootings
I don’t need to catch him in anything. Aside from a punchline, doubt we’ll ever hear his name again. Whether he was born to be in it, or otherwise.

Mass Shootings
Well he went from “I’m 2nd friendly” to “now that it’s affected me, [hell yeah] I’m coming to take ones I deem apropos away from you”. Which begs the question, why didn’t he care about the kids, adults, communities affected by those specific arms before it “hit home”? Did he care, but decided it wasn’t good for his career, so he instead chose to be cowardly, and was untruthful? I made a similar statement (I believe it’s human nature, after all) and my statement has been misconstrued and twisted in an attempt to continually call me out on these threads. I couldn’t gaf, really, but I do find it curious. I believe it’s because Beto’s politics are palatable for you, so it’s A-ok for him. My politics are not, so it’s ghoulish.

Mass Shootings
I’m pretty sure he made contradictory statements just a few weeks apart from the events, actually. And he rightfully lost his support and likely his political career for next decade.

I assume you felt the same when Beto did this, in the literal exact same manner?

Advantage to having skills greater than existing and pushing buttons, I suppose.

Not really. Take some heat off our schools and ERs for a fucking second.

Debatable. Sounds like they wanted 40% and got 25? Can’t move those plants to Mexico fast enough.

Well, I’ve owned decent amounts of most of them when it makes sense. Curious you assume that most of their button pushers aren’t shareholders as well.

I’m not sure about that. As someone who requires a 3/4-1ton for real life, I don’t see them being replaced. We’ll just grit our teeth, understand your 100k would probably be 70 without the leaches, vote accordingly, and keep hoping they get theirs.

Also, a major difference between the groups. One can be cut loose in a moments notice and puts in effort accordingly. The other knows you don’t want to fuck with a grievance and can’t really cut them loose, and works accordingly. I suspect we’ll continue to see more vehicles built in the south, and Mexico, and we can point and laugh at these motherfuckers that have no one to blame but themselves.

You’ll have to stop. I’ve been unable to sleep since.

Aggy 2024: Still waiting on the Looch 44
yeah they're probably in good shape for everyone but Miss and LSU. I hope both of those are end of season bloodlettings for aggy. 49-17 types.

2021 - Is inflation finally back in the conversation?
Maybe. As usual, it will be the poors that are affected.

You seem to think non union employees would care more about your business than union employees do. You're wrong. None of them care. We can agree to disagree, I suppose. My experience is obviously different than yours, all while literally working alongside and managing both groups daily.

I deal with unions all over the country, some are better than others. It’s the locals that give us the most issues, not as much my travelers. But 100% of the guys we get for fraud are our book carrying guys. We’ll eventually acquire someone and split it up. Just a game of cat and mouse and the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Irony? Or you’re an expert in union labor too?

Ammo is going up 20-50% every year or so, more on the auction sites. Pretty good to have around imo.

88th Texas Legislature
I will for now. Politicians want power, there will be D’s that trend towards and become the new right. They will not be Trumpy, and they will thirst for power and wealth, and they will get elected. Whole country moves to the left a bit, and we start over. Same as it ever way.

88th Texas Legislature
For sure. I'm not voting for the Trump side, and I'd rather hammer a railroad spike into my dick than pull the lever for any Democrat I've ever seen.

Do they care if you are able to stay in business, or not? Have work on the books? I would assume so, but maybe not. The difference is your employees likely don’t leave at the end of each project, then return as it suits them. So I would say, yes, they do give more of a shit.

My survey says they’d rather get a bonus at the end than to pay a group 2 op to turn on the hydrant, along with his buddy that’s required to turn the hydrant off. #chicagolocaloperators
