I saw a Facebook posting about one that was pretty wide open (no specific car model) recently. I think it was in the $600 range. Would love to take my car out there to see what it can really do, but that's very hard to justify.
What's the long term future here? It has to be to sell or shut down. No way this cheapskate operation is sustainable long term.
I saw Smashing Pumpkins, Blind Melon, Rev Horton Heat and others there in 1994. How frequent were shows there? At the time, I thought it was something that was really sporadic.
Agreed. Good story.
Mine isn't that dramatic. When my first son was born, EPL was the only thing on TV super early in the morning. Fell in love with the Gerrard/Torres team, and the history, and I've been a fanatic ever since.
The FAA TAF is the number I was thinking about in my earlier post. Now, I can't remember why I thought that was relevant. Is there some funding tied to it?
I don’t think we have a road thread yet, so I thought I would start.
I love far northwest and had an 8 am meeting a Don Dario’s, which is way south today. Took Mopac south the entire length of the road and it was amazing. Covered 30 miles in 35 minutes during morning rush.
On the traffic projections, I also understand that those are based upon a model not developed by ABIA and almost always underproject what our traffic load will be. Which would be that we'd need a runway earlier than the projected date. Can someone that knows a heck of a lot more about this than I do confirm?
I’ve heard that rail to the airport is the kind of thing that makes sense to the average voter, even though it doesn’t make economic sense, so it’s the kind of prestige thing that can get a transportation bond package passed.
Dixie Chicks at ACL on 4/12.
Saw the Turnpike Troubadors at the Rodeo a couple weeks ago, and the sound was terrible as it often is out there. Need to see them again in a real venue.
That's an interesting perspective. Most of the reviews of the library I've heard are very positive. My kids absolutely love it, and the whole Seaholm District. It's a far cry better than sitting at Book People.
I don't like the way it was funded, but that's on the Advisory Task Force for that bond. They were told how much it was going to cost, and decided to vote for a lesser number because the city was somehow going to magically do it on the cheap. They should have just voted for the bigger number.
Made a very slight variation that shouldn't matter to Shagsters but provides a little cover should city/neighborhood types decide to start searching out my slave name.
Good points. My main argument against this proposal is that it hamstrings us in terms of future proposals.
Got an email from a friend who’s filing against Troxy tomorrow looking for an endorsement. She’s one of the few I like.
