  1. Oh yeah I would never trust this car to “self-drive” and I won’t trust cruise control. Lol at the suckers who paid $15k for the opportunity for their car to kill them.
  2. We have a Tesla (Model Y) that we got last year and so far it’s been a good, fun car. Our problem has been the random phantom braking when it is in cruise control mode, but in LA we very rarely use any self-driving/cruise control features. I will say Elon’s bullshit has put me off buying another one, I’ll just get one of the many EVs coming out from Rivian, Hyundai, Volvo,Ford etc. Anecdotally my friend is selling his Model X because a) the car and the gullwing doors are annoying as fuck and b) he hates where Elon has gone politically. Don’t know how many Tesla owners know or care about Elon’s politics, but it has to be more than a few.
  3. I’m pretty sure you mean “freedom dumplings”.
  4. Gettin ready to go tailgate on the Rose Bowl golf course. Got the grill, asada for the nachos, a shit ton of booze, and a tv to watch the other cfb games. Favorite Saturday of the year. Go Bruins!
  5. The commission draws both congressional and state legislative maps.
  6. Look, as a CA resident I can see why others say “it’s not fair” to have a blue state like CA have a relatively fair process for drawing political districts while red states like FL and TX have criminally been gerrymandered. But the bigger “big picture” is that I don’t want to live in a state drawn to the benefit of/by/for a single political party. Giving the Democrats that much power in CA wouldn’t be good for our state. Even with these fair districts 75-80% of the CA congressional delegation will be Dems. The answer shouldn’t have to be go back to gerrymandering the shit out CA/CO/WA etc. districts. Maybe the Dem party in states like TX and FL should stop sucking so fucking hard.
  7. That’s a lot of losing if you’re a Trump/Lake/aggy fan.
  8. I would be shocked if Newsom didn’t replace Feinstein with a woman. Especially after replacing Kamala with Padilla. I like Schiff (I live in his district) but the pressure to appoint a woman would be too high IMO.
  9. So apparently everyone knew this except me? Honestly I had no idea this was possible. Thank you for the explanation!
  10. Ermmm, Liz Cheney lost in the primary. What am I missing?
  11. Left Coast! Woot woot!
  12. Well it certainly doesn’t rise to the level of Obama in a tan suit.
  13. So I’m sure if Boobert wins, this close call will make her more introspective about her divisive viewpoints and support of the Big Lie and……. ha ha ha ha ha ha sorry I couldn’t finish the sentence. Who am I kidding, she’ll go all-in on the “Democrats tried to steal this election” ass-hattery.
  14. Oh MTG not gonna be happy about this new colleague: Another election first: California sending first openly gay immigrant to Congress https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-11-10/long-beach-sending-first-openly-gay-immigrant-to-congress
  15. That is just Dave Foley doing a sketch comedy bit, right?
  16. There were two propositions about sports betting, one only allowing it at tribal casinos, the other allowing it online. The tribes spent big bucks against the online prop, and Draft Kings/Fan Duel spent big bucks against the tribal prop. So they both lost.
  17. Not sure how all the ranked choice stuff works but hopefully Palin is toast.
  18. Crossposting from 2022 Senate election thread. Weather tomorrow looks rough on the West Coast including Nevada, but shouldn’t be a factor elsewhere.
  19. Weather outlook Tuesday: Rough on the West Coast, including Nevada. Doesn’t look like Vegas will be too impacted, but Reno and the empty (red) parts of NV will be hit hard. Looks like weather won’t be a factor in the other key states.
  20. Except by law in California the districts are drawn by a non-partisan committee instead of the legislature. So no, that’s a very bad example. https://www.wedrawthelinesca.org
  21. Early voting process in California: 1. I was automatically sent my ballot a couple of weeks ago. Spent about a week thinking/researching/filling it out. 2. Looked up where to drop off my ballot near me. There are ballot drop off boxes on practically every block: 3. Drop my ballot off after dropping the kid at school. That evening I get an email: It should be this easy for everyone in the entire fucking country.
  22. The PAC had 5 games, with 3 teams on a bye (incl Oregon and UCLA), 1 Fox, 1 NBC (Stanford/ND) and 3 shipped of to the PacN wilderness.
  23. It’s a good point that right now OU/UT scoop up the best Big 12 network/time slots. I honestly thought TCU/Okie St would do better even against Bama/Tenn. Then again I much prefer watching Big 12 over SEC football. I’m not saying the PAC is more popular (it’s not) but the garbage, terrible P12 Network is a gigantic albatross around its neck. It basically forced USC and UCLA to GTFO. I’m just looking at ratings. Maybe after UT/OU leave it will allow other B12 teams to step into the spotlight, but I feel like the same issue you talk about (up against a juggernaut SEC/B1G game) is only going to get worse as those conferences expand.
