You'll have to see the pic, it's not gruesome because there are no bodies etc. (although bike is completely engulfed in flame). The bike is vertical, standing on its front wheel and balanced against the left front fender of the van. The front wheel of the bike is the only thing that is in contact with the road surface so no it wasn't lain down. Imagine yourself just casually standing upright and leaning slightly backward with your ass against the front left side of the van for balance. That's what it looks like.
This is why above I mentioned how hard it is to wrap my head around the fact this pic could actually be real. It is on TMZ sports after all. But you do see flaming crotch rocket and white Dodge van. There's another pic further down on that webpage that shows a distance shot of bike/van and flames, maybe someone familiar with that stretch of road can verify if all that looks like 2222 & MBR. And for those above who mentioned it no I'm not going to post the pic or any others.
Yeah jimmyjazz but what strikes me is, if the bike was going at an excessive speed (and I've seen written it made impact with the van at excessive speed) how is it possible the bike is up against the van post-impact? I hit a large commercial vehicle earlier this year that illegally turned in front of me (so basically it was going zero like the van) I know I was going under 60 mph but not by much. I was in a 3500 lb auto, and I bounced off the commercial vehicle and basically did a 180 ending up about 15 to 20 feet away. I don't believe I moved that ~26K lb vehicle that far away from me.
Somewhere I saw a still photo of Ced's bike basically doing a handstand (front wheel on the ground, back end of bike pointing toward the sky). It was roughly at the driver side front wheel. Not sure if that pic wasn't fake though FWIW. EDIT: just get on Google images, type in "cedric bensons motorcycle white van" and you'll see it. I'm old and don't have time to figure out how to embed a pic in Surly.
Met him at a Methodist Men's Breakfast (Memorial Dr. UMC) must have been very early 70s - he was still with cougar high, I was no older than nine at the time. Very nice dude and yes I agree quiet and humble. Dude had some thighs.
A side note but does anyone know if his pic as an intramural boxing champ still resides in Gregory? IIRC there was a wall outside of the weight rooms in Gregory where pics of all of the past IM champs hung (this was in the 1st half of the 1980s when I roamed the 40); at the time I didn't know Landry was a 'Horn but I happened to glance over and there's no way to miss that face.
That's the first time I've watched the Dan Patrick interview. Has he just been coached to play dumb, or is he legit that fucking stupid? Yeah I know A&M then OU. Maybe the act continued at the combine b/c he already knows he's a Cardinal. I haven't paid any attention to any other interviews he's given so I'm legit curious. If it's an act and he keeps dragging it out I think he's costing himself endorsement $$ unless he can do commercials where he doesn't speak.
At any rate fuck OU and KM can suck my cock (by barely bending at his waist).
fuck sorry for the double post, I'm old and I nearly died this morning in a wreck on HWY 973 at Decker Lake Road, 6:20 AM. Sorry to all of you in SE Austin trying to get to work but it wasn't my fault!
This shit right here. Didn't do a lot of searching for the quote bc don't give a fuck but Staubach, after he retired (I think) did say something like "I've never been hit so hard as I was in that Cotton Bowl game against the Longhorns." http://www.brenhambanner.com/brenham360/the-times-and-turmoil-of-the-cotton-bowl/article_5d0862ee-97df-5370-b163-ca6562b2695c.html Quote from article: “(Texas) just took my head off, all day long,” Staubach recalled years later.

I still think he'll get in eventually as a senior, but the fact he wasn't selected in the appropriate period after his playing career ended is indeed bullshittery.
Life-long Chiefs fan and I gotta say I was skeptical when KC let A. Smith go because, well now you're going with a Tech QB in the NFL. But damn that boy good and fun as hell to watch. Going to be interesting to see how he does next season and if the sophomore slump will hit. I'm thinking no it won't because I don't know how you can defend against an arm like that. Might want to tap the brakes but I have a feeling he will end up in the Aaron Rodgers / Drew Brees etc. stratosphere.
