This shows just how aggy lacks any national relevance whatsoever. If you take out their donations - which are mostly driven by a handful of people who only have money because grandpa's land has oil under it - they drop even further down the rankings. 3 factors are working against them going forward: those oil donors know their days of being wealthy are numbered, aggy has really shot their wad donation-wise on a coach who is about to bail and a stadium that's universally deemed one of the worst in the country, and the fact that the remainder of their graduate base skew to the dramatically low-end side of the earning scale.
This also doesn't even take in to account the fact that us joining the SEC brings a huge TV base in Texas that aggy was supposedly supposed to be bringing with them a decade ago. You have to think the other current SEC west teams are sick of giving them an equal payout and having their LOWEST TV rated conference game be vs. aggy year after year after year.
I wonder if our new friends at the SEC are weighing in here as well. With our move to the SEC aggy brings nothing to the table and is essentially diluting the (soon to be increased) pool of money the SEC distributes. aggy has been at best mediocre in the SEC and most SEC opponents already see their lowest in-conference TV ratings against them. If they become even more a creampuff does the SEC use this turmoil to push them down to a G5 conference where they belong?
Hey I feel like stabbing myself with a spoon too but that's a bit much. Keep in mind of the 15 teams with the best chance to make the playoff, 4 are from the Big 12. When we move we will struggle with alabama, georgia when we play them, and blowu, but the rest of the SEC is garbage. The Big 12 top isn't as good as the SEC top teams but the average is waaaay higher. A bad year for us in the SEC is 3 losses.
This looks like Jimbo wishing he had the stones to have gotten the good job in the state. Also note which coach likes his job enough to wear his team's gear....
You have to admit it is weird when one of the players is infused right there on the field.
Also holy shit both of these teams freaking suck. We are going to run a train on the SEC.
I thought OU said they wanted to continue but OSU has OOC concerns or something (sound familiar). Honestly not continuing would be the smart move for OSU. If they play OU essentially gets an honorable cream puff game and OSU gets an L.
If LSU wants Jimbo he's gone. He's been pretty open about how much he hates it there and it's pretty damn clear he doesn't give a shit about the team or the fanbase if you spend any time watching his locker room videos (published by aggy athletics nonetheless lol) or press conferences.
If I was in Jimbo's shoes I'd probably stay at aggy for one reason: LSU demands their coach actually wins. aggy is content being an irrelevant cellar dweller for perpetuity.
Our move to the SEC could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on where you want Sark to end up. While we still have OU to fuck us and Alabama is going to be hard for a while I think the rest of the SEC is going to be net easier than what we are used to. Does that mean we end limping to 8-9 win season and then getting raped in a bowl game? I fucking hope not.
