Texas -- a failed state
Honestly, just looking at the large majority of dudes who comprise the Teamsters, you already know which party they're lining up to vote for. At the least, they would never vote for a woman.

motherfucker, my kid's high school principal notified parents of the walkout before and specifically said that tardies and absences would NOT be excused. What else are they supposed to do? Lock the doors and say First Amendment suspended for now?

Trump’s America
Has this been posted/discussed yet? Seems .... just a tad corrupt. But Hunter blah blah https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/report-trump-family-secretly-signed-500m-crypto-deal-with-abu-dhabi-royal/ar-AA1Vvi1a?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=6980fa94ca724242a8467c97fad1b8c1&ei=80#comments The Trump family quietly signed a $500 million cryptocurrency deal with a powerful Abu Dhabi royal just days before Donald Trump returned to the White House in January 2025. A previously undisclosed agreement that sent nearly $200 million to Trump-linked entities and was followed months later by the US granting the same foreign power sweeping access to sensitive artificial intelligence technology. The deal, involving Trump-backed crypto firm World Liberty Financial, was signed on January 16, 2025, by Eric Trump and executives tied to Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's national security adviser and brother of the country's president. The previously undisclosed deal was confirmed by the Wall Street Journal, company documents and others familiar with the matter. Foreign official becomes largest shareholder in Trump-linked firmThe transaction made a foreign government official the largest shareholder in a company tied to the US president. The move is unprecedented in modern American politics, raising questions about conflicts of interest and the influence of foreign powers. The buyer was Aryam Investment 1, a company controlled by Sheikh Tahnoon, one of the most powerful figures in the Middle East. The agreement granted Aryam a 49 percent ownership stake in World Liberty for $500 million - with $250 million paid immediately, and $187 million of that first installment directed to Trump family entities, according to documents reviewed by the Journal. Tahnoon, who serves as the UAE's national security adviser and oversees a sprawling business empire worth more than $1.3 trillion, has long been viewed with suspicion inside Washington's intelligence and national security circles. more at link

Minneapolis ICE Murder
Quasi the disabled German Shepherd posted this on facebook: “Hello, Friends! I apologize for not posting for a few weeks, but that’s because there really are no words right now. As many of you know, my family and I make our home in Minneapolis. But for me, it’s called heaven. The nature is beautiful, we have SO many parks, and kind loving neighbors. Everywhere I go, I would get smiles, pets, and lovies from my all Human friends! And I love every single one of them, because, that’s my job and that’s who I am. But over the last weeks, those same humans have become afraid. I have too. And neither of us can truly understand what’s going on and why it’s going on here. Most days we are all afraid to leave our houses. There’s a lot of these new humans that just appear. Usually out of regular looking cars. They hide their faces. They yell and grab other humans. They have dangerous weapons. My human and I have seen it firsthand on a walk. We don’t go on walks anymore. My humans don’t want me to play in the yard anymore. They’re not certain what would happen if I got scarred and barked at these faceless men coming to take away other Humans. To take away my friends. These faceless men use chemicals and gas. Those are indiscriminate weapons. We don’t know what that could do to me with my unique anatomy if I became exposed. We don’t want to find out. My sisters and I are very anxious. Even our Humans are anxious. We wish these angry masked men would just leave, just stop making people afraid. Just stop making me afraid. Just stop making you afraid. None of us deserve it. It has no place. Not here. Not in America. It’s wrong. It’s just plain wrong. Maybe me saying these things might upset some of you who think it’s ok. That’s ok because I will always love you. That’s my job! But I’m just a german shepherd dog. I’ve been bred for centuries to be vigilant. To sense threats. To love and protect those who need it, and those who cannot protect themselves. It’s all I know. And I know that none of what’s occurring in my city is ok. Fear is not ok. I’ll continue to post and update you all, because I know how much you all love me, and how much I love each and every one of you too! To my Minnesota friends, please be safe, and love one another. Support one another. We’ll get through this. I love you all.” -Quasi

Trump’s America
Partly why I think the old white dudes love to squawk so much about, and mischaracterize, affirmative action/DEI.. deep down, they know their positions and privilege are unearned, and subconsciously. or not, really want to deflect from that and accuse. Regarding the peace prize.... recall that Vince Young had the smarts and integrity to say he would not accept Reggie Bush's Heisman if offered -- even though he actually deserved the award --because he had not been awarded it by those voting. And he knew that accepting it as a cast-off would reflect poorly on him. Vince fucking Young has more smarts and integrity than the leader of the free world. I mean, I know we knew that, but still.....

Texas -- a failed state
I mean, I wouldn't go that far. I don't know the guy. Just salty in general about conservative chris-ti-ans in sports circles assuming their audience is like-minded or needs to be. As in, I do the right thing because it's the right thing and not because of threat/reward fairies so why am I the one assumed to be of lesser morality if I don't adhere to their belief system. In a different venue where people of faith are talking to others about actually doing good works, then cool, fair game. I do side-eye with extreme suspicion ANY alliance with Greg muhfuckin Abbott, of course.

Texas -- a failed state
Does he know better, though? Aren't he and his family Church of Christ... grew up in a tiny town, Dad was his coach, still runs camps with Dad & Case... that shit is cult-like to me. They think everyone thinks like them, or needs to. Have a shit ton of little blond clones and go around talking about Christ all the time with your trad wife, then go back to the ranch. This probably goes better in the sports/maga thread, but my son did Colt's football camp a few summers ago. Dad's over the speaker proseletyzing about Jesus and stuff. It REALLY pisses me off, this implication that you aren't a good person, you are lost if you're not religious. But they're in a bubble because literally no one is there who isn't a Colt fan, and no one is going to go up to them and say, "hey man, there are people from all walks of life who come here and want to learn and participate... not all are Christian and that's OK." Or shit who knows, maybe I'm the only non-churchy one. Seems like it in the sports realm. Another one was Chris Beard, of ALL people. The boy did his camp and I had to hear about putting your faith before everything else blah blah, meanwhile he's fornicating and choking out his fellow fornicator.

January 6 revisited five years later
That is.... there's not a word strong enough for this disgrace of a lie. And of course, to accuse the left of "gaslighting" over the events is just the cherry on the shit sundae. Can't believe we have to live under this regime. No end in sight.

Things Not Going Well in Venezuela, 2.0
I don't think they feel the need to build any public support for anything, anymore. They know, and it's a fact, that at least 40- 45% of the people who actually participate in our political system will support absolutely any outrageous bullshit Trumpco dishes out because there is always a justification that's both simple-minded and irrationally aggressive that's enough for the mindless to parrot. The few resisters on the right will get run over with the usual "do you support America or are you a traitor" type bullying. It's over. We all said that Nov. '24 was the test of democracy. It was. "We" lost. Short of means that few of us want to realistically contemplate, the sane among us, including the minority party, are in a position of learned helplessness now despite being technically in the majority numbers-wise. Wish I weren't so pessimistic.

It never ceases to amaze me that of all the times I went to job interviews and cried, shouted, ranted about how much I love beer, and vowed revenge against my perceived political enemies... that not even ONE time did I get hired.- Texas Roster 2026
- Shooting at Brown University
The NRA has never been weaker, in recent times. And yet, everyone has just given up. It's not just a lack of political will, it's a lack of will in general. Just fucking conceding and throwing in the towel. Pathetic.- Jeffrey Epstein needs his own thread
Sweet move to frame a crime scene photo, which you created, and put it on your desk. Fucking insane- Bijan Robinson is special
I'm just surprised anyone growing up in Bijan's generation still called it that. Bijan is a great guy, kind, with a big genuine smile, and just terrific around kids (my son did a football camp with him). I tune out when he speaks because the God stuff is so, so extremely over the top and never-ending. So I missed his remark. And the constant God stuff plays a part in me thinking he's gay. Anyone else get that vibe? Are there ever any women in his life? Never seen one.- Trump/MAGA has ruined sports
not googling right now, but there was an op/ed based off a WSJ article that rightly described the need for mega-billionaires to accumulate and hoard even more wealth than they already have, that they could never spend, nor could their offspring, as very similar to a regular OCD-type hoarding sickness. Also that this has been the case at other moments in time and must be combatted in specific ways. Similar to what Heather Cox Richardson was saying in her latest video.- Trump’s America
wait, Kash/Bondi already said he had extremist beliefs. Are they now going to now walk that back? Popcorn gif- Trump’s America
they got a pepper baarrr!- Trump’s America
