25 years ago tonight. The Grateful Dead were really rounding into shape in the spring of 89. They took that momentum into summer to create the month of July of 89 which, imo, rivals May of 77 in a lot of ways. This was certainly the real beginning of their third real peak.
Bourbon. I just got back from a week on the road and all I have is Bulleit. I travel quite a bit these days so I don't have a lot of time to go to the liquor store. The weekends for me are just to try to relax for 48 hours before I have to do it again. I never had to travel much for work previously, but I've been on the road more this year than I have been in my office. I try to have fun on the weekends.
I went to an art festival earlier today and got high as a goat. It was outstanding between the art, the high, and the weather. I had an early lunch/dinner with the wife and then came home to watch the Masters for the rest of the day. I'm already a couple of bourbons in and I'm listening to the Grateful Dead. Today was a pretty goddamn good day.
I don't give a shit about NIL, but I want to make sure Surly stays around. Imma, can you check my account and see if I pay monthly, yearly or whatever? Thanks.
That's badass. I was at Lake Buchanan and the clouds parted at the perfect time! It was so fucking cool. Since the lake is so far down, we walked pretty far into the lake basin and had unobstructed vision from horizon to horizon. The bluebonnets had also filled the lake like I have never seen before. I spoke to a few old timers that have lived there for 70 years and never seen bluebonnets like this. The whole weekend was just amazing...other than the 6.5 hour drive home (normally just under 4).
edited to add a few crappy pics. The camera doing its job really messed up just how dark it got.
Well, that post was list night. I'm not sure why it didn't get posted, but whatever, I'm all about this very fine 4/4/88 show from Hartford tonight. Hartford shows seem to traditionally kick ass!
Wait...if you are perma banned how are you posting? To be clear, I think a Surly w/Derka is better than a Derka free site, but I also see too many of these types of threads.
He's on the wrong side of 30 and on his 3rd team. He isn't getting a 5 year deal again. He also is in an offense that spreads the ball around. He won't have a career year hear in Houston where CJ throws to everyone. Hopefully he is all about winning and wants to end his career with a couple of rings and resigns for a couple of years at a reasonable rate. If not, byeeeee.
