Yeah the Disney Star Wars shows have been real shitty so far. You probably shouldn't watch because you're still mad about the Asian girl in a Star Wars movie from 5 years ago. Solid game plan.
Fuck yeah.
Someone up-thread said Frasier was their second-favorite 90s sitcom after Seinfeld... same here.
Brilliant writing and BRILLIANT casting with David Hyde Pierce as Niles and the late, great John Mahoney as Martin. I remember when I first started watching the show, I was like, "the asshole Dad from Say Anything is their Dad?!..." but what an amazing character he turned out to be.
I always remember the opening when Niles causes a fire that is only set to music... no dialog... what a tour de force of physical humor by David Hyde Pierce and expert direction by Kelsey Grammer:
Fuck yeah.
The whole "Genesis Trilogy" is great, as is Undiscovered Country.
"The Search for Spock" is underrated AF. You get Kirk blowing up the Enterprise, you get the resurrection of Spock, David getting killed and Christopher Lloyd as the best Klingon villain ever. (Sorry Christopher Plummer). The only bummer is Kirstie Alley not returning as Savvik.
I mean… I get it. The dude was visibly limping. And they don’t call it Southern HILLS for no reason. It really doesn’t come off on TV how steep the hills are…. There are some SIGNIFICANT ups and downs, especially having to climb the big hill back up to where the #1 tee box is. Doing that for 4+ hours each day all week would be hell on a bum ankle and back….
Throw in the weather turning cold? I totally get it.
It’s a transition month, kind of like October. So it’s generally pretty nice, but you can also pretty much get anything…. Could be oppressively hot like earlier in the week, or a cold front can whip through and it can be breezy and cold.
When we hosted the Big 12 baseball tournament here 4 or 5 years ago it was like in the 40s for the night games.
The view from the tee box on 1 is so cool. You're at the top of a big hill and you can see to course in front of you and downtown Tulsa in the background.
The shots on TV don't do it justice.
