Too bad. Make those rich folks sit on the grass and dirt. ;) In all seriousness, I'm surprised Cedar Ridge doesn't have a bigger stadium. They have the room for it.
That's not how this works - the Dolphins actually will be paying more if they keep him. The "dead money" is due to cap mechanics that brings money they had hoped to assign to future cap years forward. They actually save money in the long run if they cut him. Jason Fitzgerald goes into gory detail here: https://overthecap.com/a-look-at-the-dead-money-with-tua-and-the-dolphins The right thing to do is to cut him, take the dead money hit for a couple of years, and then reset. This is what the Broncos did with Russell Wilson and it paid off. The biggest thing is that Ewers went out there and looked almost as competent as Tua (and in some cases moreso) with very little practice, and he's cheap. it makes financial sense to move on from Tua even if Quinn doesn't turn out to be the answer long term. If they don't think he is then they'll find someone in free agency to take the hits until they can draft someone else.
Not sure how reliable this guy is but so far I can't find this being reported anywhere else. That said, I think it's safe to say that Tua's time in Miami is done.
