2022 Transfer Thread - It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
How dare you forget those 18 hours on Jan 5, 2006 when this place was Xanadu

Houston BBQ
That tater casserole and corn pudding is too good to pass up. Go big or go home

Houston BBQ
Truth 2-meat combo with soda is $32. I go there a decent amount and it is living right on the edge of the absurd-amount-for-lunch category. Excellent but that's getting nuts.

Texas Football Roster 2022 -- "Welcome To The Party Pal"
We are the dude who bought dinner and opened the doors all night for our hot date.....she hugs us at the door and tells us how nice we are and what a great date that was. 10 minutes later, she texts some other dude to come over and bone her. "But he didn't treat her right" is what we would cry at home, wanker in hand.

Exactly. If our billionaires outbid their billionaires, our coaching staff would be best recruiting staff in nation. Instead, we play by different rules than reality and then are schocked when we lose a recruit or aggies dominate us in this game. Sadly, for as much as we rightfully make fun of aggies, they were ahead of game and ahead of us. We are stuck defending why this isnt real NIL.

Yellowstone
We did Jackson Hole and Yellowstone last summer, staying inside park for a few days. Going to Hayden Valley and seeing all wildlife at dusk is a must. Saw all kinds of wildlife while drinking wine. What to bring if you stay in park? Binoculars and low expectations on quality of food at restaurants.

Buying a New Vehicle in this environment
Just went to buy new F150 and they only had a few new ones. I wanted a dark exterior with leather seats, nothing off the beaten path. They told me they could order it and that I can get it at end of the year. I asked why would I get a 2022 right when 2023 trucks are rolling out and he just shrugged and said he had no answers to things this year. You basically have to want color combo onsite or not get new truck in 2022.

2022 Summer Season: Flavor-Aid (Strength: Prison Wine)
Because we all firmly believe Cade Brewer is going to find a 7th year to highly impress coaches in practice.

2022 Summer Season: Flavor-Aid (Strength: Prison Wine)
You only see the lemons. I see how much better our passing yards allowed per game were than our rushing yards allowed per game. Lemonade out of lemons with that dominant top 60 performance. Show me a loss.

Sandwiches
I usually agree with your opinion so this only means one thing: you haven't tried this sandwich.
-
Sandwiches
Crunchy chicken sandwich at Local Foods is best sandwich in Houston. Bring it.

Residential Slumlords, Holler!
Super helpful advice so keep it coming for myself and others. And again....lucked out from my original post. Neighbor heard house was going to be on the market for lease from someone and figured out how to get my phone number and called me. Wham bam, 1 year lease. Only drawback is for sure only 1 year lease since they need temporary place as they are doing major renovation of home. So no long term lease like my 11 year tenants.

TexMex
I've tried hard to love Teo. Sometimes, love doesn't take. I like Teo. I really like it. But Goode co cantina, pappasitos, and el tiempo all more expensive and all beat it. Is red onion same thing as cafe red onion on Kirby and 59? That and America's were my date spots in late 90s. Loved cafe red onion

New Houston Restaurant Recommendations
Finally tried Underbelly burger. $52 for 2 combos. If it was great, would have said that's pricey but great and gone back. Southwells, buffs burgers, feges, and mia's are four joints off the top of my head with better burgers that are less expensive and more convenient to get to from where I live. Have to believe this place will be goners within 2 years at that value.

2022 Transfer Thread - It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
Why would Pearson's application be withdrawn and replaced by Bujcevski's? Am I committing conjunction fallacy or red herring or false equivalence in thinking this is just mistake made by 9.95ers in naming who actually submitted an app?

Do you FIRE? Financial Independence, Retire Early
Exactly. Give me a boat, BMW, corvette, and fur coat today and I'll put it on eBay tomorrow. After growing up with very limited resources, I immediately did ok for myself out of college. Bought myself a luxury car since that is what to do in investment banking. Hated it. Sold it 6 months later and got a modest car. Realized I hate worrying about where I park, is it washed, etc. Rather have a car I don't give a shit about. On the FIRE front, I ran into old buddy at Pinkertons a year ago. It was like a Wednesday and he was sweaty and in shorts so I asked him what's up. He said he did FIRE and retired at 46. He said he goes on Craigslist whenever he feels like making a little money and that day, he had cleared a field for a real estate development firm. Made 200 before lunch and said he might or might not work again that week. He was a management consultant at one of the big time firms making bank and he said he was happier than he has ever been doing odd jobs rather than traveling to London and pitching some bs ideas. His personal financial model said he had to make $36k per year to do what he needs to do. I am following same thought process and think I'm 6 years out...unless we decide to stick daughter into St John's or something.
