Anyone worried this will give more of home field advantage to aggies? Most loud college kids and alumni that travel have time and budgetary constraints. And they will face choices every year.
On one hand, travel to a town that has an airport, possibly get laid by hot women and worst case scenario, you drink a shitload on a beautiful lake?
On the other, fly to one city, rent a car to drive to another city, get lost and believe for one second Google sent you to a large prison complex, with the worst case being you passionately French kiss a corps member who is from a small town in Texas but hasn't told anyone their secret?
Advantage aggy. They play the long game, gotta give it to them.
I know yall have been at the edge of your seats but I changed the oil on my polaris myself. First time I've ever done anything with an engine. I watched YouTubes and they helped. Took 25 minutes to do, 15 of which was spent me figuring out what the engine crankcase was so I could remove the correct plug. Who knew (besides competent engine people).
Anyways, thanks for advice on doing it myself. Saved me time and money and now I never have to take in for oil change. Now if I only knew what grease points to grease......but that is a battle for another day.
Please take this recruiting news to another forum please. This thread is to discuss shit no one knows about but writes as if they are in the know, thank you very much.
We went and had really poor service on our one visit. literally only table in entire restaurant and still couldn't land a drink for over 10 minutes and then took forever to order......you know it's bad when I had to get up and ask the 6-7 waiters who were chatting it up if they were open and that was still not a call to action for anyone. It was very bizarre.
Food was fine but we ain't in hurry to go back when there are other places like mia's for the kids around the corner.
These last 12 years are like art, there is no wrong answer on worst UT game. You could name various games as first among equals.
Lets hope times change or I'll threaten my wife with spending time with her on saturdays.
Made it to feges. Solid place. My lunch at truth is always $25. This was $20. Both are like $4.00 too high but relative value to each other, it's at equilibrium.
Feges = great service, more convenient for me, slightly lower prices
Truth = better bbq, corn pudding from the Gods, better tea and soda, more $
Been there a couple times, summertime only. Very pretty, good food and close to various places to hike and bike. And perfect summer weather. Only con is not too close to the main national parks but close to lots of gorgeous places, expensive, and about as diverse as snow (though that might be a pro if you are WP)
Live in Spring branch and work by NRG so I will be trying Feges and E's a couple times each and report back. I've been going to Truth pretty consistently since it opened so sorta spoiled.
Lucky enough to have traveled through 3/4 of Latin America and a good chunk of the world.
Here are my death row meals:
Best breakfast is central american.....over easy eggs, refried beans, Salvadoran queso duro, plantains, and a tamal de elote with crema with a side of thick ass tortillas. Don't bring that hollandaise and poached bullshit to this thread cuz you lying.
Best lunch is Texas bbq, American cheeseburger, or Mexico City street taco
Best dinner is Argentinean bife de ojo with 2 to 5 gallons of chimichurri on side
Best dessert is French nutella crepe.
I don't apologize that 2 out of 3 meals are Latin american...and lunch could squeeze in mexican to make it 3 for 3 (but I'd go bbq, gun to head).
I love many other cuisines so I'm not a hater but was inspired by this post.
You are subtle, not sure who you are talking about.
I know nothing about homey but I do know that I gave papa Charlie's a try a few times but I stopped going when I would order moist brisket at 1130 am and they--consecutive times--told me all they had was lean. How do you consistently run out of moist brisket 30 minutes after opening when there was no line?
I don't want to trigger any ladies/mother's on this day so I'll leave my opinion on those who order lean brisket for another day.
I don't eat bfast and go to lunch every day at 11 am. I've been to Truth probably 25x since covid and I've never waited more than 5 minutes at 11 am (weekdays), even thu and fridays.
I see the line form while I eat and when I'm leaving at 1130-1140ish, it's gotta be around 20 minutes normally, with Fridays being north of that for sure.
Completely agree with premise but inheritance is by far biggest driver of wealth for average American. HOme ownership is certainly key factor though so buy buy buy.
Agreed. Not great. Not awful. Worth my time but not going to run to watch it again, ever. And I've sadly watched Jack reacher 11 times.
Also, not that woke besides one female officer. Expected more after reading some comments, like gay and tranny soldiers winning and being fabulous.
I go to Memorial Big Yoga a few times a week. Hot, vinyasa flow.
I've always been in good shape from running, mountain biking, and basketball. As I aged however, flexibility went to shit and back issues began. Yoga is great exercise and those who say otherwise have likely done less intense classes meant for relaxation and hippie bullshit. It will absolutely make you lose weight and possibly make you fart in front of 42 year old memorial milfs.
I probably go to Truth (htown) once every other week. Slightly more convenient for me than Pinkertons and I heart their corn pudding like no man should.
Never been to Truth Brenham. Is bbq better in Brenham or same? I don't care about ambience so only talking taste.
Sam kept us in many games because of consistently shitty 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter throws. I judge by whole game, not by who had solid 4th qtrs (which Sam definitely had). I'm definitely not a Sam hater, btw, just wouldn't even place him as a whole-game qb pick in top 50 or 75 of last 10 years. I still believe he is slightly above average.
Like, life on line choice to make one throw, no way I would pick Sam in my top 5 each of last 4 years. Interviews and passion, sure.
Agree. Sam was a very slightly above-average college QB. Take away his passion for burnt orange, he would have gotten grilled on this site so much. But that passion and photo as a kid created a story that made it difficult to think critically about him for many. He definitely had his moments, like all slightly above average quarterbacks do, but I say damn were there a lot of throws missed that should have been completed (even with our OL).
Definitely this. I will YouTube to watch to make sure I'm doing it sorta right. I don't feel bad at all that I've never changed oil in my life but I also don't want to haul it from my ranchito to Houston (and back).
So I'm doing it myself and can't wait for black smoke to come out from the engine like a pope still hasn't been picked.
I have a 14x30 or so and love it. Agree with everything @ROFL BOX said.
I insulated after a summer in Texas without insulation even though I had new window unit ac. Still sucked. High ceilings didn't help. insulation helped a ton. I added 1/4" plywood all through to 7 feet high, recommend that too because I hit the insulation way too much until I added that. Hell, I still hit the insulation above the 7 foot plywood on occasion with long lumber.
I only have 2 outlets and it makes me sad. Get a portable heater. Build two work tables, long one for mitre saw.
