Texas athletes petitioning University to replace "The Eyes of Texas" and to no longer require athletes to sing it
Are the players on football scholarships or SJW scholarships?

Texas athletes petitioning University to replace "The Eyes of Texas" and to no longer require athletes to sing it
Texas players and coaches are great SJWs, but really lousy at football.

Jake Smith
Give the kid a break. If he had caught it and scored, it would have been negated by some BS call by the refs anyways.

Texas athletes petitioning University to replace "The Eyes of Texas" and to no longer require athletes to sing it
I've gone to the first two home games. I haven't missed the band. They've been playing the same songs and doing the same marches for 50 years. People used to love typewriters and phone booths too, but they're obsolete. Instead, perhaps put local bands on the jumbotron, or something like that. Time to think outside the box. How many times do you really need to hear march grandisio?

Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
I can't comment on how much school has become a shit show; but, I can comment on the shit show that Austin traffic has become. Starting to look like pre-covid shit showedness.

T22 (and other fried chicken)
I love Randall's fried chicken from their deli. They have Kickin Chicken special on Mondays - a bucket for $5.99 with a Randall's Remarkable card. Bucket is eight piece: two wings, two thighs, two legs, two breasts.

COVID-19 2nd wave - Texas only - Stats and such
Abbott's decision today makes sense. After all, if the experts in the Big 10 tell us the science says it's safe to play football, why can't I go to a restaurant?

BIG is getting embarrassing
I hope the Big 10 conference shares the detailed scientific data they used to make this decision, whatever it may be.

College Football in 2020 in danger?
The rumor is that the opting out teams want a sizeable share of any revenue generated by the opting in teams. Opting in teams not happy about this.

Opt Out & Declare Thread
Another Buckeye opts out: COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — With the chances of the Big Ten Conference playing a football season slipping away, two of Ohio State's best players have chosen to opt out and start preparing for the NFL draft. Cornerback Shaun Wade, a preseason All-American and likely first-round pick in the 2021 draft, announced his decision Monday on Twitter, saying the Big Ten waited too long to decide what to do about playing. Wyatt Davis, an offensive guard who is another potential first-round pick, announced his decision on Friday. https://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/Tired-of-waiting-Ohio-State-stars-opt-out-move-15566179.php

Texas Exes Alumni Verfication
I called the number on the postcard. They are creating an alumni directory. All they confirmed was my name and email address and degree. Then they started a high-pressure sales pitch to get me to buy the directory. It was like $150 or something for the leather bound version. Avoid.

"The first $50,000 of an employee’s salary will be reduced by 2.5%, the next $50,001 to $100,000 is reduced by 10% and any amount above $100,001 is reduced by 15%." So, this is a blended decrease. Got it.
