I had it a couple of times in the original cresson location, thought it was very good. I was excited when he made the move to the traffic circle. In three visits, I left disappointed every time.
Goldees is my favorite over all the other joins in DFW, but I havent been to Hutchins. But damn, there's a lot of buzz with sooo many joints across TX. I dont believe you can truly pick a clear #1. Maybe five #1s or ten #1s. That would blow people's minds.
There's going to be so many new places. My guess, no one from the previous top 5 will be #1. I am curious how many of the known nostalgic places will be on the list, such as City Market and joints in the city of Lockhart. I believe there will be more Fort Worth/Tarrant area places over the Dallas area. But 407, after three visits, has never impressed me.
2M was very very good! Brisket was moist and tender. I would have liked it a bit more salt. Ribs were great, great rub. Stellar sausage. Major props on the homemade pickles and onion relish mix?.
Headed to Port A for a long weekend. Driving from Fort Worth.
I'm debating to either stop at Louie Mueller in Taylor, 2M in San Antonio or a place yall can recommend. I will drive 35, 183 whatever it takes.
It's been many years since I've been to Mueller's. Never been to 2M. I've been to all the spots in Lockhart and Luling. Also to Baker Boys in Gonzales and Brett's in Rockdale.
Just want to make sure I'm not missing a spot. For times sake, I should probably avoid the greater Austin area spots.

Early pic
play with the ears, tug on the tail, rub and push around on their paws, tap em on the nose and top of the head. You know, the stuff vets and little kids will do. get em used to it so they dont snap.
I didnt take any pics.... ribs brisket grits were as great as I remembered. The laotian sausage was really good with their laotian sauce and sticky rice. 100% the real deal.
I've never been impresses with Meat U Anywhere and 407 BBQ. But its been years since Ive been to MUA.
Woodshed is way overrated. BUT when they have whole fish, that was really good.
Daynes, Goldees, Hurtados, Smokeaholics, and Panther City are my top 5. Favorite brisket is either Daynes or Goldees. Ribs would be Panther City or Daynes. But its been awhile since i've made it through all of them again. And I still need to get to Brix.
Garage Door Height - make them 9 or 10 feet tall. I have a five car garage, with standard height doors from back in the day. If I get a truck a little taller than my yukon, it will not fit. I'm seriously considering having a contractor to raise the height.
Also, make sure their plugs on all sides of the garage.
