It's fantastic. I'm liking more of the backstory in s2 than in s1... obviously since they're able to go beyond the novel at this point.
Well written, well shot, and incredibly-well acted... one of the best dramas currently on tv/streaming today.
I'm behind an episode on this season, but I've liked "June" (ep 1) and "Other Women" (ep 4) the most so far. It's been pretty damn brutal at times, but still very much worth watching.
Hanley batted .571 against the Astros in last year’s ALDS.
This year, he started 44 games. The Sox won 34 of those games.
Just wanted to put that somewhere.
It is, but it's still surprising to see it happen this early in the season. He was slumping big time (and Cora frustratingly kept hitting him 3rd), but he still had a decent line vs lefties (.333/.378/.476).
I'm not the biggest fan of the move - I would've liked to see him just platoon with Moreland for the time being - but I think it's the front office going over Cora's head by doing this. Had Hanley hit 497 plate appearances this year, his option for 2019 (at $22 million) becomes automatic. The Sox are partly doing this now to avoid that from happening (or having it become a distraction later in the year).
I don't agree, but I understand.
Pesky details... Anyways, it sounds like Romo will start the Friday and Sunday games. A different reliever - Ryne Stanek - will start on Saturday.
Still, weird things afoot in Tampa.
Rays’ manager Kevin Cash allegedly plans on starting Sergio Romo again... three days in a row — versus the Orioles.
If it happens, it would be the first time in MLB history a pitcher starts three consecutive games in a row.
nine inch nails - 10/30/1994, at the Fair Park Coliseum in Dallas. I was 13, so my dad chaperoned me & my buddies. Marilyn Manson opened (before he was a thing).
Bad-ass concert. Still will remember it 'till the day I die.
Spike Lee definitely is past his prime... but this seems like a funny enough premise without being too haughty and in-your-face (Chi-Raq) as some of his other recent films.
Valhalla is legit. Pretty sure they've moved on from Pearl, but it's still damn cheap. Like $1.20 for a beer last I recall. Especially great when the weather is nice and you can hang out on the patio tables (since it still smells pretty rank downstairs).
Mookie Betts through 39 games:
.356/.435/.780 (1.215 OPS) with 13 HR, 29 XBHs, 41 runs, 27 RBI and 5 SB.
He might very well be the best player in baseball.
That was an infuriating game last night. Kimbrel is "on" about 97% of the time, but when he's "off"... he falls off a cliff.
(His numbers on recording 4+ out saves are not the best, btw.)
