Mookie Betts is good at baseball.
More importantly... won the series in Toronto, back home for two series vs the Rays & the Royals.
Xander returns to the lineup tonight, and not a moment too soon -- Brock will have to sit out a few for a minor hamstring issue.
Let's keep this party going. 19-5, with a 4 game lead in the East. April has been a fun month.
The ratings have been quite low, so it's not looking good. It currently ranks 14th (out of 19) in the 18-49 demo for NBC's prime-time scripted shows. No official word yet, but I'd be willing to bet it's one-and-done. Would be a shame, though. It certainly has potential.
The character’s name is Alfred (or Al). “Paper Boi” is just his persona/stage name, and much of this season (and the last episode) is him trying to navigate that dichotomy. I loved the drive-thru scene a few episodes back... extra fries... That’s just a microcosm of this season in general (if that’s at all possible).
Quick aside: I *highly* recommend the NPR Fresh Air interview with the actor who plays Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry). Helps appreciate his character even more, I believe. The dude went to Yale School of Drama & has a theater background.

Sure, there’s less of an overall story arc this season, but Donald Glover obviously wants to experiment a bit. Hats off to FX for letting him do it.
I’m sure Donald Glover is a busy guy & it initially striked me as odd that “his” show would feature multiple episodes without him in it at all (or just a bit part), but I think this show is better appreciated when you realize it’s unlike any other show on television, ever.
A few episodes of this season lagged, but it’s still unquestionably one of the better shows on tv today. And I’m not the only one who agrees.
I really like this show. As a teacher, it hits (somewhat) close to home. I’ve used the, “Okay, everybody shut your mouths” line to start the day quite a few times.
The actors who play the students are fantastic, as is Patton Oswalt as the principal
Not anything revolutionary, but each episode is worth a few guaranteed laughs.
So... David Price didn’t look good tonight. Leave it to the MFYs to get him to revert back to his “old, but not old-old” ways.
Initial rumors say blisters are the culprit.
That's an awesome Scherzer stat... but if I was the Nats owner, I would've had an infarction seeing my 210,000,000-dollar pitcher run the bases like that.
Dr. David Chao:
”10-14 days would be the absolute best case scenario for any fracture of the talus. I hope this optimism is realized and not just a precursor of 60 day disabled list.”
Fuck.
Holy shit... saw it was 7-2 and stopped following the game. What a helluva 8th inning!
Finally playing a non-Floridian team on Tuesday. Apparently they're slightly better than the Rays and Marlins.
