Duvernay took his time to become a stud. He only caught 29 passes in his freshman and sophomore seasons. His junior year he caught 40 and then exploded as a senior.
You would have to think he is healthy. 12 million is good value if so. Also Chas is a very solid number 8. His OPS is well above average. Pretty much equal to Benintendi
Nonna Osteria and Dough are less than a half mile walk. Pinkertons BBQ is less than a mile. Maverick, Bar Loretta, Little Ems are about .75 miles. Then you have a lot of stuff on the Riverwalk.
Biga on the Banks and Broudo’s are on the Riverwalk and my favorites on the river. Both are good places for a meal with coworkers.
If we are going to sign a veteran starter, I think Eovaldi would be a great insurance signing. He’s from Houston, has not been the most healthy but I can’t imagine he would be making more than we were paying Odorizzi (or however you spell his name)
@Helobious Although some aren’t truly defined as downtown, everything below would be considered downtown for the out of town game crowd

Most teams would love to go to a 6 man rotation but they would be starting a likely AAA equivalent starter. Go look around not many teams have 5 quality starters let alone 6.
As other have pointed out it’s a collective bargaining agreement. On top of that he will be 28, 29 in March when he is a free agent. If he continues as the 2022 Javier he will probably get something around $30 million a year and he will make another $10-15 million over the next 3 seasons. He’s not sitting out.
