That is a horrible mischaracterization of UT and I won’t stand for it. I demand that he retract that tweet and tell the truth. I’ll go ahead and draft his correction for him: “The sips spend an extremely small amount of time successfully destroying Aggie football. This has been happening for decades. Jackie was a cheater who got caught. Racists who wouldn’t be claimed by any university sent that racist letter to Sumlin.”
There are times where it looks like his shoulder is still bothering him.
As for his pocket presence, I’m starting to think Sark has a case of Mack Brown/Gregg Davis-itis circa 2004 where Sark is harping on the QBs to stay in the pocket and make the throw rather than get yardage on the ground. He’s holding the ball way too long and doesn’t take the easy yards. There were a handful of plays last night that ended with Texas being 2nd and 10+ that should have been 2nd and 5 at best, 2nd and 8 at worst. If all your reads are covered and the pocket is collapsing around you, get the yards and slide, my guy.
They blindly stumbled onto the smartest move they could make, here. If you want to fire him, make the decision before he can go 7-5 and make the majority of the fan base wanting to give him one more year.
Billy sat on it while continuing to allow his organization to pump sunshine. Any reasonable fan would stop giving him money after pulling shit like that, but A&M isn't known for its reasonable fans and Billy has made a very comfortable living because of it.
We have yet to put together a complete game. That is 100% on Sark. I've never seen a coach mismanage momentum in a game like Sark does. That being said, if he can take a hard look at himself in the mirror and make the needed changes, Texas will be absolutely scary again. The talent is there, the talent is developing, it's just pure coaching mistakes, at this point. Mack was in this same position around 2003.
Most of the users on this site are now older than the main cast of Old School when it was filmed. And as I remember how old they looked to me when I first saw that movie, my day is now utterly ruined.
Nope, not yet. If Sark starts openly shitting on the conference and calling it out for blatant corruption and favoritism it will just make them double down. Wait until they can’t tip the scales anymore. Other schools and conferences won’t care if Texas is getting jobbed. Hell, they’d celebrate it.
Not just Petrino, but Durkin, too. Between Jimbo, Petrino, and Durkin, the Aggies have a FedEx MD-11F worth of baggage with very little to show for it.
My wishlist, in order of preference:
1. Texas plays against an OU that once again stumbles backwards into the title game. The game gets 9 million views and a 7 rating on TV, being the highest rated Big 12 Championship of all time and will remain that way for the remaining decade that the conference actually exists.
2. Texas plays Kansas State who stumbles backwards into the title game with a fully healthy squad.
3. Texas plays Oklahoma State so we can give Gundy's mullet a swhirlie one last time.
4. Texas plays Kansas so we can beat them twice in a season and put the "lost to Kansas" fully to bed.
They want an “Aggie Man” because the truth of the matter is they need someone who will accept a smaller contract than what Jimbo got because they will be strapped for cash for a few years. Part of the compensation needs to be “being back on campus and the fulfillment that you get from helping your beloved university.”
If they do hire a former Ag and pay him significantly less, just watch. Looch already has that sentenced typed up to feed the masses.
Sark has a horrible understanding of momentum in a football game. Taking points when you’re up is way better than giving the opposing team a 4th down stand and then having them march down the field and score themselves.
