When ordering food, people that order by saying, "Can I have so and so for...?" versus saying, "I want so and so for..." I am assuming that since it is on the menu you can have it. Of course there are the rare occasions when something may not be available but that would be the execption. The waiter/waitress has already asked what you would like. Tell them. Don't ask them if you can have something. How often are they going to say "no" when there is something on the menu as you can have? Diner: Can I have the chicken fried steak? Waiter: No. Diner: Crap, I was looking forward to having that. I guess you are out of it? Waiter: No. You just cannot have it.
For the record, since I clicked on this bumped thread out of curiosity, for me, it is right sock, left sock, right shoe, left shoe. I always wear socks around the house.
My roommate came walking into the dorm one day with a heavy jacket on with a white streak going down the back of it. He had no clue that a grackle had made a large deposit onto his jacket. We lived in Moore-Hill at the time so he probably got hit by Gregory Gym.
When I exceed 80 mph in my truck, and it is a windy day, the door seal on the right rear passenger side will intermittently make a “burping roaring” sound. I first heard it on a road trip driving through Wyoming. At first it sounded like a wheel bearing galling up. Ugh.
This is my recollection too. It was my first game to attend as a student at UT my freshman year. I was sitting on the student did with my GF on about the 30 on the north end. I had high hopes for the season. It was long dreadful football experience for me during my years at UT from ‘84 thru’88.
LinkedIn. I have an account but I am not active on it. I got it as a request from our MarComm team so that I was aware of the occasional posts about our product. What kills me is when people get on there and become philosophical. Especially those that I know and recognize that what they are saying is 100% BS.
The above bolded explains most of why. Also: Did you give her ample time to fix her hair? Did you hold the camera at an angle that is flattering for her? Was she positioned at a slight angle to the camera with one leg bent at the knee with her heel off of the ground?
I was at the local Honda dealer a few years ago buying a 4-wheeler for my son. The salesman and I went back and forth until he finally said that he would have to go ask the "business manager" to go any lower. He came back and said, "Sorry, that is as low as I can go. I cannot go any lower". To my advantage another salesman was on the phone in the adjacent cubicle and he was talking rather loud and he agreed on a deal for the same 4-wheeler that I was trying to buy at a lower price than what my salesman was offering. I just looked at my salesman. He was pissed because he just heard what I had heard. I walked out with a sweet deal on a 4-wheeler.
^^^This. A few years ago, in the month of August, in Texas, we had a small group of Russians at our facility looking at some equipment. I gave them a plant tour. At the time we also had a small steel mill. They insisted on a tour of that facility as well. I pushed back being that it was in mid-August and that you had to put FRs on and that it would be extremely hot. They did not care. So off we go to the mill for the tour for about an hour and got good and soaked with sweat. The Russians were really smelling bad as they were already a bit ripe when they showed up. I thanked them for the visit and assumed that they would go back to the hotel to freshen up before going to the airport. Nope, they left our facility and went straight to the airport for a trip back to Russia. I shuddered to think about how bad they would smell on the plane and felt sorry for whoever had to sit around them.
I wonder if Bijan had a payout if he went over 200 yards rushing last night? Interesting that he had 195 and they took him out the last series. He cannot get out of Atlanta fast enough.
SIAP. When I click on "entertainment" it no longer list the major topics under it. It now lists topics from a variety of the major topics that were once listed individually. See screenshot below. How do I get it back to getting the major topics to be listed (movies, music, hobbies, etc.) only?
Phil Collins 74 Jack Hanna 78 James Van Der Beek 48 Gary Busey 81 Steve Gleason 48 Max Baer Jr. 88 Barry Manilow 82 Bruce Willis 70 Lonnie Wilson 42 Carol Burnett 92
Merry Christmas to a special group of people here that make me laugh, teach me a few new things and makes me scratch my head in wonderment at times!
Hookem Horns!!!
A frequent flier here as well. Agree on most of these.
I get the aisle seat 98% of the time. The older you get the more important it is to have quick access to the toilet. Old bladders just do not have the holding capacity as a youngster.
I also often act as the gate keeper to keep the mad rush of peasants trying to get off of the plane ahead of their allotted time. It is particularly challenging acting in this role on flights in India and China.
This video so reminds me of my youth. I grew up in a rural neighborhood not too far from I-20 and some truck stops and a Kenworth and Peterbilt dealership. As youngsters we would ride our bikes up to the truck stops to buy sodas and candy. It was a wonder we were never taken by some stranger!! We would also go to the KW and PB dealerships and climb on the trucks and watch them work on the trucks in the shop. They would give us models to play with and brochures that we would look at for hours. I remember when they came out with the Bicentennial Edition KW. That was so cool for a 4th/5th grader. Certainly a different era.
