  1. Seize the Day with Robin Williams 1986. Witheld from theatrical release because of it's departure from his comediac roles. This was without a doubt the most depressing film I have seen. It's on Prime. Not recommended. Wikipedia ReceptionThe Philadelphia Inquirer critic, Ken Tucker, praised the performances, but wrote that the film was "a little boring in its relentless depression". The director, he wrote, was "all too willing to let a scene dawdle, the better to emphasize Tommy's torture".[5] A San Francisco Examiner critic called the film a "powerful drama" and a "remarkably faithful reproduction" of the Bellow novel, and praised the performances, calling Williams "first rate".[4] The New York Times critic, John J. O'Connor, praised Wiseman's performance, and said that Stiller "steals the film". But he criticized the casting of Robin Williams as too "Middle American" for a role as a Jewish New Yorker. He wrote that Williams's performance was excessively intense, and that the portrayal of Jewish people whose only yardstick is money is "a scenario calculated to unsettle, possibly even offend".[2] Writing in New York magazine, critic John Leonard called the film "ugly stuff", but said that Williams "is, for the most part, up to it"

I had to sell Top Down 1 due to some financial crunch. I was able to buy another car a few years later. Here is Top Down 2. It is a 2008 Carrera S. It is almost completely stock. The "Lobster Fork" wheels are painted body color matched from the factory. I want to start modifying Top Down 2 to look more like Top Down 1. Wheels, headlight rings, front lip, red seat belts, maybe the rear spolier (maybe not). It needs a little work right now too. The convertible top hydraulic motor seals went out, so I need to fix that. It needs a paint correction too. Other than that, just some regular maintenance. The red calipers could use a refresh, so I think I will rebuild and repaint them soon when I need to replace the brake fluid and pads. The tires have plenty of rubber, but they are 6 years old. I want to get new wheels when I need new tires.

I am going to be doing an update / retro-restoration on my 997.1. I'm going to document the progress somewhere. I'm not sure where. Probably 6speedonline or rennlist. Here's the story and the plan for the car. When my oldest son was just a little fella, say 3 or 4, I bought my first 911. Not my first Porsche though, my wife was driving a fairly new Cayenne S that was totally excellent. My son saw that the top goes up and the top goes down. He named it Top Down. I loved it. So Top Down 1 was (is) a 2006 Carrera S. The build sheet is really great. Slate grey metallic, brown top, sports seats with painted seat backs, red seat belts, etc. It was nicely modified by a previous owner with TechArt wheels, painted headlight rings, and TechArt rear spoiler (small, classy). I added a GT3tek front lip spoiler (painted) and did a full paint correction. I also replaced some of the interior parts that were worn out by the time I took ownership. Here are some photos of Top Down 1 at 9k miles (before I bought it).
  5. My brain stuck Irish into that sentence. I was impressed that you Irish-up your breakfast cereal. That's a bold strategy Cotton. That reminds me of the time when I flew to Hawaii by myself (direct flight from Dallas to Honolulu, the big nice jumbo jet flight). I was going on a Naval Tiger Cruise at 15 years old. I got upgraded to first class for some reason. I had been to Hawaii the previous year with my family in the back with the poor people. I had no idea what luxury flight I was getting into. Anyways, I was seated next to this single guy that was flying to Hawaii to photograph high school girls soccer. He was in an exceptionally good mood and drank all of the free liquor he could in first class. They finally cut him off when he was drunk and ordered ice cream. He wanted Kalua on his ice cream. For some reason that was their limit with that guy.
  6. That's some cocaine gospel right there.

    Thread needs something....
  10. You guys are stupid....
  11. The Boys. Classic coming of age stories with super hero stuff and cool special effects. The political plot lines are pretty far fetched so he won’t get confused with current events. Lots of father son bonding moments. Mother son moments are touching too.

This video is pretty long, but it has a few good parts. The story at the beginning lets you get to know him. The interior finish. The detail finish. And the Autobahn cruising at 300kph like it's nothing. I would trade my 911 for that M5.
  14. I don’t think right lane driving is common etiquette. What bugs people is the lady that is walking in front of me in traffic and just suddenly stops for some reason. Usually the phone l, not reading isle labels. Just oblivious that everyone had to brake check and is waiting. This happens at airports too.
  15. I rewatched Chapelle’s 2018 special Sticks and Stones last night. Pure hilarious nonstop entertainment. He was happy and smiling and animated. 2025 Dave was dead ass tired and hated being there.
  16. The 3x 325/10 hydrocodones are a nice touch.
  17. I agree with Dave Chapelle's last special. That was terrible. It was just a racial history lesson with almost no jokes. I wouldn't be suprised if he hides out again for a while after that. Ricky Gervais popped up next with his latest special in 2025. I had tried to watch one of his specials a while back, but something turned me off about him. I think it was how he kept laughing at his own jokes and talking about being rich. I stuck with this one and found myself laughing out loud twice a minute. I was totally suprised. Gervais>Chapelle is not what I was expecting last night.
  18. I like the idea of watching with the old commercials. I’ve been watching Cheers on Prime. The modern commercial breaks kill the nostalgia. Old car commercials or even political ads would be cool. Then some news breaks, local weather and Mattress Mack. That would be great. I was going through some old VHS looking for some basketball highlights on the local news of my brother in High School. Turns out my mom recorded a ton of the local news channels at ten o clock to see if he made the news. So the recordings of her flipping between the three news channels, waiting through the commercials and flipping around waiting for the different sports segments. It was pretty darn entertaining watching all the old news and commercials, especially the Christmas time of basketball season. It was kind of like watching tv with my mom in a weird Time Machine. Miss her.
  19. What is the connection with Taylor Sherriden, Paramount plus, and MTV. I enjoyed hearing the tune and seeing the logo while binging all of those shows. I found it an odd partnership but never even googled it. MTV and GNR was pretty awesome in middle school. I don’t think I was allowed to watch MTV Raps though. The late eighties in Abilene wasn’t exactly the cultural epicenter of the world that you probably imagine it was. Bart Simpson was too rude for my household.
  20. I just got Apple+ and I immediately binged this show. I had been waiting to get A+ until I switched my phones over to T-mobile with free A+. My mind has been reeling with possibilities, especially after the second episode. I took a break just to sit there for an hour fantasizing. I missed some of the playoff games because of it. I have been avoiding this thread until now. Reading begins. I just love stuff like this. In one of the extra content segments, Gilligan says that he was filming Saul, and he just started daydreaming about a person that could wish for anything and get it. Then he expanded the idea a little bit, saw it had legs, and hired all the best writers to make it into a show. I want to be able to do that. Take a wild idea that is fairly unique and hire people to make it into a reality. How do you get to do that the first time? @henrygandorf Also, being one of the writers has to be a blast. You get the hook from Gilligan, then just bounce wild shit off the walls until something starts to form up. Oh what fun. I'm between jobs right now and I can do anything I want. I'm trying to decide on my next career and I'm not limiting myself to any direction. Writer would be great, but I've never really written anything entertaining. I wrote the global marketting campaign for IBM Cloud Brokerage in 2017. It was a product that didn't exist and was all smoke and mirrors (a bunch of Indian dudes doing IT architecture behind a curtain that looked like a software application doing the automation). So it was pure fiction. Does that count? Most people in my life have told me I'm the funniest and smartest person they have ever met. Being witty and creative in a writing room sounds like a dream come true. But I'm afraid it would be more like when Jack joins the writing team in 30 Rock. That episode includes Cerie being a distraction in the writing room, so here's this... IMDbJack the Writer (2006)Katrina Bowden in 30 Rock (2006)IMDbJack the Writer (2006)Katrina Bowden in 30 Rock (2006)IMDbJack the Writer (2006)Alec Baldwin, Judah Friedlander, and John Lutz in 30 Rock (2006) Sorry for the tangent. I'll start reading the thread now.

Norm is my answer. Suprised no one has mentioned Farley. Espescially from this generation of assholes on this site. Hartman is way up there. When you add up The Simpsons, News Radio, SNL, and movies, he probably has the most material out there. I guess that's more acting if he didn't write it, but he probably wrote it too. I don't know.
