  1. I disagree with the commentary. It is not, in fact, tough to watch Clayton Kershaw struggle like this.
  2. I feel like it is inevitable, but not particularly looking forward to her as governor.
  3. I love this particular shoulder season Tahoe, with no melting snow and no crowds, but getting into October you begin rolling the dice on weather (looks like snow is in the forecast next week). Just spent a week on the west side of the lake and can’t really report anything new, though if we are going back to 2019 some NOLA expats opened Toulouse in South Lake Tahoe during the pandemic and it’s a decent way to scratch both the Tahoe and New Orleans itches.
  4. Fuck everything.
  5. Have been to the Four Seasons for dinner quite a bit but have not yet stayed there as I have not breached the sanity/free child care balance with my in laws (but am close). Would appreciate reviews. I actually don’t know anyone who has stayed there.
  6. Clara Jeffrey is a leftist? I’ve been in San Francisco too long, progressives here call her a Republican.
  7. It made X and became Elon’s latest source of racist outrage.
  8. Dominican Kenny Powers.
  9. Sonoma is more laid back than Napa, but I’m not sure a “reasonable” tasting room exists nowadays, unfortunately. That said, Bedrock and Auteur are good tasting rooms in town and it looks like they are still $45 a person. Hanzell is a classic with great views just north of town, but probably more expensive. Girl and the Fig is kind of the nice restaurant in the town square. Personally, Valley Bar and Bottle is one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area, but it’s laid back. They have an even more casual seafood shack, Valley Swim, which I also recommend. And right nearby is El Molino, where we go to get something close to Tex-Mex, but probably not what you would care for. It may not be what you are looking for, but Enclos is a restaurant in the square that opened last year and went straight to two Michelin stars. Have not been so can’t vouch. As for hiking, it’s going to be hot AF so would suggest driving towards to the ocean, but otherwise off the top of my head the Taylor Mountain Preserve near Santa Rosa has good views and hopefully good breezes.
  10. I think it slightly surpasses CA as a whole, but I don’t think that really means anything. But to your point in a post above, the recall and new DA (and mayor) ended police department’s work slowdown and in some respects - particularly property crime - drove massive improvements. The politics of progressive prosecution are complicated and lead to some petty infighting.

How was the Roumier? Looks immaculately stored. Also you just going to leave us hanging on the Coche?
  12. Yeah hit 67 up here today.
  13. Think it will move in that direction after finishing up with land acknowledgements.
  14. Duh, you’re right - I was thinking of Justine.
  15. Ain’t dere no mo.
  16. I personally like spending a leisurely afternoon in da Point. Old Point is the main bar and they sometimes have music. Crown and Anchor a nice pub. Dry Dock has solid po boys and some salty Yats hanging out at the bar. That’s honestly about it, but walking along the levee on a nice day is great.

  18. That’s a really nice house - think it will go closer to $3M based on comps, but to your point that’s a huge house for Berkeley and relatively not a bad deal compared to the nicer neighborhoods of Houston, Dallas and Austin (especially).
  19. Someone’s really interested in Berkeley!
