Longhorns have uglied up the pace of this game to their style, but with no one capable of driving to the whole or cleaning up on the offensive glass their offense is kind of hopeless unless they shoot a higher-percentage from behind the 3-point arc. Love Disu, but that shouldn’t be your go-to player if you want tournament success

I often tell people UT fans’ level of support of the basketball program is not deserving of success. It’s why historically I’ve had different expectations for the football program than the basketball program, why I would’ve given longer leashes to the Rick Barnes’ and Shaka Smart’s both of whom seemed higher quality coaches than UT basketball fan support deserved. These sentiments, however, have to be weighed against the disproportionate playing field of college athletics that gives schools like Texas a gigantic advantage over 90% or more of the country’s athletic programs, an advantage that is even larger in the still new NIL-era.
