Realignment talk not going away
No way in hell they even take the discussion this far if Perry (or someone similarly impaired) is in office. This actually is a kind of critical part of the timing.

Realignment talk not going away
Let me get this straight. aggy is so concerned with the perception and recruiting advantages they'll lose when Texas and OU join the sec, that their proposed solution is to run to the ACC instead? How exactly is that recruiting pitch going to work out? Never change, aggy, never change.

Rape also has devastating effects on communities, but the Baylor members of the legislature seemed far less concerned with urgent action on that front. Wonder why.

Realignment talk not going away
Is anyone else just waiting, praying, for aggy to publicly deliver an "it's us or them" ultimatum to the sec? Please, please, please be this dumb, aggy. I know you can do it.

Realignment talk not going away
It's a rare situation that is potentially mutually beneficial across the board...except aggy. In other words, the best situation imaginable.

Realignment talk not going away
Based on how this broke (aggy mouthpiece trying to screw it up), it seems like the answer is no. If we want any legitimate chance of this happening, that feels like a good thing.

Realignment talk not going away
Definitely agree on aggy, but it seems like a stronger conference presence in Texas stands to help arkie. They've never really recruited Texas that well since they've been in the sec, and this might potentially help them a bit. They're not going to win many recruitments head to head with these schools, but if they're playing with Texas, aggy, and ou, they're more likely to win recruits who today are picking tcu, OSU, and tech because they want to play closer to home.

Realignment talk not going away
It feels like we can't let the message get this far and this public if it's not happening. The urban fiasco was one thing, but imagine going back to the big 12, life as usual after this story. The recruiting impact alone would be devastating. If we think sec teams are raiding Texas now, imagine the negative recruiting if we very publicly requested to join and it goes sideways. I know this is really all about $, but in my mind, the real benefit is recruiting. Prior to aggy joining the sec, we could somewhat keep all but bama and Georgia out of the state. Now the situation has escalated and we're not slowing it down while in the big 12. The best answer is to cut off the "come play in the best league" negative recruiting tactic by becoming a part of that league. Bama and Georgia will still be able to sell their brands, but that will always be there. It's teams like aggy who have been making a living off of this narrative in Texas who legitimately have no counter punch. I have no specific love for the sec, but the big 12 seems to loathe Texas despite being 50% of what holds the conference together. Either way, a meaningful change of some kind has to happen after this. We can't just go back to the same big 12 following this story, just as we couldn't stick with Herman after the urban news cycle. I think the sec is the best option for us, so here's hoping this happens.

Realignment talk not going away
Texas, ou, and the sec have now had multiple chances for a flat denial and none have come. What's more likely, that aggy made up a fabrication and for some reason no one is denying it, or that it's true and aggy leaked it to try to mess it up?

Tell Me About Texas a&m
This gem is notable from that thread: Let's check in on the last few years of bama/aggy scores: 2020: 51-24 (27 pts) 2019: 47-28 (19 pts) 2018: 45-23 (22 pts) Average margin of victory for bama = 23 points. I can't imagine why bama fans would expect they'll win by at least three touchdowns. Clearly they're delusional.

2021 Texas Offseason: Sark Attacks Austin
Since I became a fan, I have never missed a Texas bowl game. Except one. I was out of the country in a place where it was going to be nearly impossible to watch, so missed this one. When I looked at the stats, my first thought was ESPN had fucked up. Even with as bad as our offense was that year, 53 yards for the game was pretty shocking. I've never watched a snap of that game and never will.

Married in March and renewing vows by summer? I guess everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

COVID-19 vaccine discussion
My wife and I got vaxxed as soon as we possibly could. Our oldest turns 6 in November, and unless a new variant is shown to be more dangerous to children he will not be getting the vaccine for a long time. For adults the risk/reward of vaccination makes sense even with the unknown long term impact of the vaccine. For a six year old, given the extreme limited risk of covid for this age group, it does not.

Jake Smith
I always hoped that Jake would put it all together, he certainly flashed at moments, but I'm not real sad to see him go since he seemed to want out all the time. That said, if the rumors about him and Jake Ehlinger being close and planned roommates this year are true, that combined with Jake's struggles on the field and with injuries, along with coaching turnover (yes, for the better, but this isn't the coach who recruited him) add up to an unsurprising exit. I don't really understand the hate towards him for leaving, given all of that.

I'll probably grow to like the shadowed Texas if we start winning a shit ton of games on it. If we're losing I'll likely hate it.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2022 - Idiotic Slapfights Unrelated To 2022 Recruiting
Not so much USC, but this has been my thought with how much of the staff just came from Bama. How often do you think players silent to bama and then jump to places like Oregon unexpectedly? Maybe it happens, but I bet not often. Guys who said they were committing probably tended to stick with it. Suddenly they're seeing guys they thought were locked up being effectively negative recruited and jumping ship. Not something they've likely had to deal with recently. It definitely feels like we may have been blindsided by these last few, but I'll see how we respond before panicking. This is, at least theoretically, a strong recruiting staff. I'm going to trust that means they're capable of adjusting tactics when adjustments are needed.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2022 - Idiotic Slapfights Unrelated To 2022 Recruiting
Yeah, particularly based on recent experience, what could go wrong?- British destroyer buzzed and targetted by Russian jets and ships
I hoped it was obvious, but yes.- ‘Birds Aren’t Real’ Activists Hold Rally in MO
It's all fun and games until the Q crowd gets ahold of it, takes it seriously (seems there's no conspiracy they won't buy into) and someone does something really dangerous and stupid to try to prove this is true. Yes, there are a million non dangerous and stupid ways you could prove birds are real, but there are also a million non dangerous and stupid ways to tell people your baby's gender yet we have idiots causing wildfires with gender bombs. I'm going to go ahead and assume this will end in the worst imaginable way.- Jimbo 2022: Balls To The Face
They're experts in the subject of fake hype. Championships wall out front (of the stadium) should've told ya.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
Didn't someone on here mention he's driving a Bentley or something ridiculous like that for a college athlete to be driving around? If so, real shock that might have been a target if parked at the airport.- British destroyer buzzed and targetted by Russian jets and ships
This is a good reminder that we shouldn't be too worried about the Russians being the source of those mysterious uaps that we can't seem to explain. I'm pretty sure they haven't advanced technology beyond what we can comprehend when they can't keep their ships from catching on fire. The Chinese on the other hand...- Jimbo 2022: Balls To The Face
Be prepared for the sudden conclusion that he's not sec ready if he picks us.- 2021 Texas Offseason: Sark Attacks Austin
Aside from the obvious difference in coaching quality, a big difference from Tom's opening loss against Maryland is that no one thought they could beat Texas and it seems obvious the team (and probably coaches) treated the game as such with preparation. This game is going to have some hype as an early top 25 matchup, and given it's trendy to pick against Texas there will be a ton of picks for Louisiana to win. If they outplay us or they're just a better team and we lose, ok, but they definitely shouldn't catch us by surprise. - Its happening (stadium renovations)
