  1. It said he's staying at bama.
  2. Anyone gloating about people in this thread setting themselves up for disappointment never really understood the point of this thread. Sure, we all really did want urban meyer to be our coach, but after the news broke that he said no hopefully most of us knew it was an extreme longshot at best. It was still fun in a time when not much about texas football has been. In the end, the only outcome that I would've been unhappy with is Herman returning, and that's not happening. Hopefully sark can give us more than a ridiculous thread to enjoy about texas football, but for the tail end of this shitty season this has been a fun distraction regardless of the outcome.
  3. Texags is a blast this morning. The entire first page is threads directly or indirectly responding to their embarrassment that a bdf team boatraced their best win. The highlights include everything from reminding each other that ou faced a full strength sec team in the cotton bowl and lost (because 2012 is very relevant now) to complaining that the opt outs are being social justice warriors because the schools and bowls are seen as "the man" trying to keep the players down. Only aggy could find a way to respond to a disappointing bowl outcome with thinly veiled racism.
  4. Yep. It's pretty obvious what happened here. We were using Mullen as negotiating leverage for Meyer, so he pulled strings and arranged for Mullen to get a show cause and eliminate our leverage. That's the most obvious explanation, and just further confirmation that it's happening.
  5. Please don't.
  6. Brian Davis reading this idea right now...
  7. You joined right in the middle of our urban meyer media fiasco and claimed to have been "trying to sign up" for 3 years and only now suddenly figured out how, but you're surprised anyone has labeled you as potentially fishy?
  8. "Finding a place that offers 2 margaritas and an appetizer for $9 is really, really hard."
  9. It's certainly starting to feel like you do.
  10. The reaction in this thread is why you need to be certain Meyer will say yes before anything becomes public knowledge. Kelly is a fine coach and a clear upgrade from Herman, but once everyone is anchored on urban meyer, your only options are to land him or disappoint a lot of people. If the search news started with Fickell or Harsin and suddenly Kelly's name entered the mix, I imagine the reaction would be a bit different.
  11. Do you even sec, bro? If he wins games, those fine Baptists would worship Satan for him.
  12. Fucking hilarious, this is exactly what we had. Don't get to Chicago often these days, but LM delivered will do in a pinch. Merry Christmas ya filthy surly animals.
  13. cdc: here's our offer, $12m/year Urban: hard pass cdc: ok, here's our new offer, $12m/year PLUS a special meditation room Urban: where the fuck do I sign???
  14. Cut the aggy some slack. They just had the best season they've had in 30 years, and the best they'll have for the rest of Jimbo's tenure, and were left out of the playoffs because no one has ever or will ever give a shit about aggy. That is a hard realization to process for them. They will never beat alabama again, and this year proves that unless they're able to do that, there's no championship in aggy's future, ever. They obviously thought by going to the sec, they'd get some of that one loss and still in the playoffs love. They didn't realize those rules only apply to sec teams that matter to the conference (and country, for that matter). aggy is not on that list. aggy has never been and will never be on that list. No amount of conference changing, coach hiring, or political posturing will ever make it happen. In cfb there are big brothers and little brothers, and aggy is painfully realizing that moving to the sec and hiring Jimbo's has only made them a little brother who runs his mouth louder and to a different group of friends. He's still a little brother, and always has been. So, if this dumb shit mouth breathing red ass fuckstick needs to ease his pain by spamming our board, I say have at it. I smile at every post as each one reminds me how painful it must have been to see osu and nd on that final four list. But hey, at least you get to lose to mack brown again as your consolation prize. Or "not want to be there," as I'm sure you'll say after.
  15. Yeah, that article smells of a Tom Herman sponsored storyline. Interesting that this story comes from the same person who asked Tom the obvious planted question about the Urban rumors. By all accounts, Ewers committed to Yurcich based on the offense he sold him, and decommitted after seeing an offense that looked nothing like what he was sold. Strangely, it also looked very little like what Yurcich has put on film before, and a hell of a lot like Herman's offense. Funny how that works. With this set of information, we're supposed to blame Yurcich for running off Ewers? Tom and Anwar need to come up with some better spin to sell.
  16. So he's already giving nc bulletin board material? Fantastic.
  17. Mea culpa. I blame being too high on aggy misery.
  18. I'm not sure if you're serious, but, who you beat matters. We played two good teams all season and lost to both, along with losses or near losses to some pretty awful teams. I don't have much doubt all of the teams in the ny6 bowls would beat us, so no reason to gripe.
  19. Are they still working on that data dump over there?
  20. Coastal took a big gamble taking that byu game, and all we did was prove it never really mattered. That's the lesson out of this, unfortunately. They could've beaten georgia and been left out, because they're Coastal Carolina.
  21. Texags had a live video feed from their offices this morning as the results were announced anticipating they would be #4. The reaction was priceless:
  22. We just wrapped a massively disappointing season while aggy overachieved relative to most expectations. Given that, plus our coaching shit show, I guess it shouldn't be shocking the aggy trolls are coming out of the woodwork. How to spot an aggy troll starter pack: 1) new account (anywhere from October on) 2) claims to have been around a long time, but just now signed up (they think this makes it less obvious it's a new troll account) Any of 1 or 2 combined with: 3) claims to have inside sources with details about our coaching search, but obviously can't go until detail about who those people are or why we should trust them 4) any shots about the big 12, the superiority of the sec, or aggy pulling a nc coach 5) any shots about how we can't win because of how spoiled/arrogant our program is, how soft our players are, and/or how that all ties back to being in the liberal cesspool of Austin 6) any reference to the fact that we've historically been a mediocre program with only brief periods of success 7) use of "Texas A&M" or "Aggies" There are probably more, but most can be identified by the list above. If you see new a poster meeting the criteria above, do yourself a favor and just ignore. Don't engage, call them out, question the validity of what they're sharing...just ignore. Nothing is more boring to a troll than being ignored.
  23. Lots of aggy in this thread, not surprisingly. So here's my honest question. Without the benefit of ooc games, how are you qualifying the sec as the strongest conference this year? Bama is always good, but they kicked the shit out of everyone else, including you. Your second in conference team lost to a horrible lsu team. That's also your best win by a mile, and it doesn't look great now. We make this joke a lot, but from the outside it definitely looks like bama and the 13 dwarfs this year. In a year with basically no ooc games, having a diversity of conferences in the playoffs is even more important than usual. You had your shot against bama and got blown out. If you don't make it, and you shouldn't, blame yourselves for not being good enough to win that game. The committee didn't get blown out, you did. Don't blame them if they count that against you.
  24. In the era of open market transfers, Shane did everything right. I was at the 2018 Baylor game when Sam was knocked out of the game and Shane came in prepared and played well enough to win a game we easily could've lost. By all accounts he still keeps up with Sam frequently and has no negative feelings about his time at Texas. If he does, he doesn't talk about it publicly. For how many guys compete, lose the job, and then leave with a chip on their shoulder like they've been slighted, it's nice to see a guy take things like they should be in these situations and go on to have success at his next stop. Hook'em, Shane.
