The other one linked from the Reddit post was shit.

I mean the AAFL did pretty good. Beat an NBA game on their first night on TV, pretty sure the USFL compared favorably to an NBA playoff game in their debut. AAFL was also pretty well attended here in SA. Obviously those TV numbers will go down from the debut but I think they can be a successful venture without needing to pack stadiums or beat the NBA's TV ratings. Smaller rosters, less pay, one stadium, no travel, etc. They seem to have a pretty solid business plan. I don't see them CNN+ing this, there absolutely is a demand for Spring football.

They need to figure out a way to tweak the rules in such a way that you can have productive offense without needing NFL level QB talent. I'm sure they are all trying to run NFL-lite offenses to try and get back to the league but they need to ditch that because they are having the same issue the AAFL had and the XFL would have had/will have again.
  4. I think they made a purple carrot too.
  5. That is fucking hilarious.
  6. I've played all of them for 100s of hours each. It feels like we are due for a new one soon, I just checked and Civ 6 came out October 2016.

lol so the last game today got canceled due to weather and they are playing tomorrow instead. Crazy.

It looks like they moved the kicks back an hour for the remaining games.

Triple header! On NBC, USA and FS1 respectively.

The game last night had much better attendance but it was still a light crowd. But yeah its owned by Fox Sports and their goal is ratings not butts in seats.

This is a made for TV product, I doubt they are sweating the attendance at all.

Fisher v Sumlin leads the slate today on NBC. Might be the only time I'm rooting for an ex aggie coach.

Joel Klatt is on the call and the first game is also on the local NBC affiliate, so 3 network coverage for the debut. On Easter Sunday they are having three games in three time slots on NBC USA FS1. Some of the games are on Peacock too. Pretty cool to have a football option on Easter. Hopefully this league will fare better than AAFL and XFL did.
  14. The Assistant on Hulu. Trailer makes it look interesting...the movie itself was terrible.

First game is this Saturday. Looks like its on the local Fox affiliate and FS1.

  17. I mean its great though, and they have way more than 3 menu items. In and Out is probably more popular with almost no menu diversity at all. Common burger varieties or some of the worst fries available, those are your choices. Back to CFA, regular/spicy/grilled just covers their sandwiches. They have easily the best nuggets and sauces anywhere. Wraps and salads for the ladies as well as a bunch of sides that are unusual for a fast food joint like mac and cheese, kale salad and soup. And that's just lunch/dinner. Their breakfast kicks all kinds of ass and destroys any other fast food place's breakfast menu. The breakfast bowl and burrito are awesome. IMO the only fast food with a better chicken sandwich is Popeye's and literally every Popeye's I have ever gone to has been a hellscape of broken equipment, unavailable items/services and a staff that gives less than zero fucks. Oh and they also have a non zero chance of being closed for no reason during posted business hours. Taco Bell and Jack in the Box are white glove service next to Popeye's.
  18. That sucks. The one I go to is still good.
  19. I had the Southern Double burger tonight and I was blown away by how much I liked it. Part of that was that I had low expectations going in, but goddamn was it good. It is up there in my top 4 with #1 being Thick and Hearty and the 2/3/4 tied with Hatch, Chophouse and this one. The sauce was badass. It was like mayo cut with extra vinegar and beef consommé. I don't like slaw but cabbage just for crunch worked great on this. This has more bacon than any sandwich they've ever offered IMO. It was wall to wall bacon. It's also one solid ass meal. This burger + fries are more food than most average Whata customers are used to. In the spirit of shitting on their recent service, they left the fries out of my order. It was curbside placed through their app and they brought the fries out shortly after I called them to tell them about it.
  20. First of all, why not both? Why is one (easing domestic production hurdles) tied to the other (restricting export) in your argument? But I'll take a stab. More of something means cheaper prices assuming demand remains the same. And oil/gas is a global market regardless of our export, or lack of export, restrictions. And demand worldwide is highly inelastic. The price goes up and people just pay it and if its a business or production input the increase just gets passed on down. So if we produce more oil and gas and everyone else stays the same, it gets cheaper eventually. Smarter people than me have posted reasons why you can't index the price at the pump to the price of oil in this thread. If the gloves were off for US producers in terms of no more restricting federal leases, no slow playing permits and no ESG bullshit choking financing and investment and we embraced the fact that a barrel of oil not produced here is a barrel that will be produced elsewhere, if possible, then we would see prices fall over time. Nothing anyone can do is going to reduce the price people pay at the pump over night. As for pipelines...they are objectively safer and more efficient than literally every other means of transport. So, do with that what you will if you are wondering why Keystone XL got torpedoed.
  21. What does the southern style sauce taste like? They got rid of a lot of stuff permanently, it looks like. No chicken bites, no chicken fajita, mushroom and Swiss like people have mentioned. Breakfast burger went away again. I fucking loved that thing. They are back to the original spicy ketchup only too. While the "limited" one was just cholula+ketchup I liked it better than the original spicy ketchup which was already pretty good. The Whata I go to has definitely seen a service and quality decline but I don't know how much of that is due to lockdown related causes vs getting bought out. Whata and CFA are the only two fast food places I routinely order from and the CFA has not declined but it was always the benchmark for fast food service and quality even before the lockdown.

Picked this up a while ago along with its subsequent stand alone expansion, Trudograd, on Steam. Only recently started playing it. If you enjoyed Fallout 1 or 2, this is essentially Fallout 3 but set in the Soviet Union instead of the USA and on a slightly different timeline. Indie title but the only real omissions I've noticed from a big studio game is no voice acting and minimal cut scenes. The graphics are not mind blowing, they are very much in line with what you might picture when thinking of a Russian Fallout game made 30 years later. English translation can be wonky but usually in a funny way. Game mechanics are very much like Fallout in that there are a ton of skills and stats, a few of them way more powerful than others, and lots of ways to build a character. Companions are in the game but just like Fallout they exist for the occasional comment on what's going on and to frustrate you in combat.
  23. That looks badass. A race down the strip at night will be amazing.
  24. I didn't watch the Oscars much less see this live but it was impossible to ignore the next morning as it was, quite literally, everywhere. Front page of every news site I visit and the virtual front page of the only social media site I check, Twitter. So I saw a couple of clips and then looked for the unedited feed to maybe get more context and found one that was like the full 90s or so from the joke until Chris Rock 'recovered' and went into his documentary award or whatever it was. At first watch, in real time, I thought it had to be a bit. Smith is clearly laughing at the joke as the camera cuts to him after. Even when he walks up to Rock, Rock is sort of standing there weird, like he's waiting for something. The slap was a surprise but I still thought it had to be a bit. When Smith is walking back he looks like he is smirking or something to me, maybe he's just looking to.Jada for approval though. Anyway when he starts yelling at him from the seat then I thought "Was that real?" I don't know if it was 100% unscripted and authentic. I am blown away though that he could have done something like that and not get kicked out of the event. More than anything that is what makes me still consider it might have been at least partially scripted. Celebrity and wealth privilege aside, the Oscars don't have security empowered to do something like that? What would have happened if two people got into a physical altercation in the audience over some real or imagined slight? Nothing? There is not one person in charge who could have made the call to eject him? We live in an era where taking a swing at someone on a football field will get you sent to the locker room and this dude can slap someone on live TV and just go sit down? And then to discover minutes later he wins his award, gets let on stage and crys and shows no remorse or accountability and gets a fucking standing ovation? That's fucking crazy to me even for Hollywood dipshits. As for whether or not Rock knew about her condition...who gives a fuck. He's a comedian doing his job and they are public figures and 100% fair game. You go to these things and you can expect to be roasted if you are famous and have some roastable shit out there. No bald jokes allowed now? No fat jokes allowed either I guess? FWIW, I didn't know about her condition but I knew about their open marriage. Would he have gotten slapped for talking about that? It looked like in the immediate aftermath he wanted to bring that up, I wish he would have. Finally comparing this to any political conspiracy is laughable. The conspiracy here would be two actors were acting?
  25. The entire franchise is fantastic. But yeah 3 was my favorite game ever. I don't think Cyberpunk, at least on PC, was as bad as people make it out to be. It was just hyped up to a degree that only a perfect game would have lived up to. I would buy a Witcher 4 sight unseen.
