  1. The show was ok for the most part but it’s not nearly as large as it was 10 years or so ago. The last 2 years it’s been the Houston AutoBoat Show and has cars on one side and boats on the other. It has a pretty good mix of fresh and saltwater boats. We looked primarily at center consoles in the 23-28’ range but there were lots of options up to a 36’ Yellowfin with trips, a 37’ Caymas cat with quads to some $400k+ surf boats. Lots of shallow running skiffs and flats boats but not very many duck boats this year. Didn’t see the Sharrow booth. Not gonna pay the $$$ for those props. Yamaha, Mercury and Suzuki all had big factory booths The auto side was ok, most manufacturers were represented, except for Lexus, which was the main one we wanted to look at. There was an indoor off-road course you could ride in a Jeep or Ram products and an off-road Polaris course outside. It was underwhelming talking to most of the booth car people with the exception of a British guy who was an Ineos Grenadier factory rep. They had vehicle in a simulated off-road stance with one side up in the air and he invited me to get down on the floor and crawl underneath it so he point out a couple of frame and suspension items.that made the Grenadier much stronger than any competitor.
  2. Walked up to the BoatUS booth to renew my towing membership as security was getting her to pack up her personal stuff and kicking her out. The BoatUS lady and the dude at Mike Hood props booth both told us to use his booth to do the renewal and said there was a “situation”. Didn’t know what happened until Stanco’s post. Seems like the incident happened on Wednesday and it took till Friday to kick her out.
  3. I’ve been watching videos of this girls channel, building a tunnel under her house. She got hung on on permitting issues for the last year and spent a lot of that time quarrying blocks to make a castle? The rock splitting videos are very cathartic. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSn_udujt4F/?igsh=OHducmthc3FpODU2
  4. Marlin made a 9mm Camp Carbine years ago with a wood stock that might be an option. Probably have to go Gunbroker or the like to find one.
  5. Gotta match the plane
  6. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas with the peace of newborn baby Jesus and warmth from the soft glow of electric sex.
  7. From the flight track it looks like the plane veered to the right just at it was going over the causeway.

Well shit, this sucks to hear. I guess today is gonna be a Joe Ely live album kinda day around the house. His earlier full band live albums were really good but, IMO, Live at Antone’s is one of the greatest live albums ever recorded. How’s everybody doing tonight ….
  10. One wall of my dentist’s office is wallpapered with the blueprints of the office. I usually set where I can see the electric load calculations and go through them to see if they are correct.
  11. Props to the rescuer but that looks more like heavy mono netting than FO cable.
  12. For all you old guys, Triumph has announced a 2026 reunion tour with all 3 original band members and Phil X helping on guitar. 3 dates in Tx touring with April Wine in support.
  13. What? No $500 Van Staal’s? Don’t be poor.
  14. This came through my camera today in E Tx. I think he’s my target for next weekend
  15. Sold another 20 head of yearlings off a different pasture a week ago. Avg $1900 for 550-600lbers. Nice chunk of income for operating partnerships.
  16. This is a great buck. If he travels in the same direction each evening, try to find a hide spot downwind from the direction he will approach. Figure out a travel path to get to that hide that doesn’t cross his path. If you don’t roll around in cow shit, Break off some cedar boughs and rub them on you

  19. We did a couple different parts of it on weekend training hikes for our Philmont trips. Just me, but I wouldn’t hike in the NF during hunting season. Too many rednecks thinking the forest is their own. We did a CCW loop around through the Little Lake Creek Wilderness Area, leaving from TH3. It was wet during one trip and the trail was a slog the whole way. We got water at one stream but it was silty and clogged our filters pretty bad so I would have non-filter sterilization methods in addition you don’t cache. I think you can camp anywhere along the trail but there were a few designated campsites. There is a guidebook on the trail available on Amazon: Hiking The Lone Star Trail - Karen Somers. Seems like I read some posts on a website/forum with detailed information too but where escapes me.
  20. We just sold a bunch of yearling steers and heifers weighing 500-650lbs for $300-$375/cwt. Averaged about $1950 ea which is really nice for us small scale cow/calf operations.
  21. This. Probably don’t need to worry about the twist rate. I have shot a few hundred of these through a youth single shot bolt action 22 and they are very quiet without using a suppressor. If you can’t find the Aguila’s, look for some CCI 22 lr 40grn hollow point subsonic. They are pretty quite out of the same 22.
