Just started this and really digging it. It's a modern Lord of the Flies set at a Florida theme park that gets ravaged by a hurricane and the young employees go fuckin tribal on eachother while waiting for help. It's written in an after-the-fact interview chapter format like WWZ. Reviews weren't that great which surprises me so hopefully it doesn't get shitty. But so far I'm really liking it.
In the afterword he basically admits it was a shit book. He even says his wife read it and was like "you can do better" ... guess you can't waste time on rewrites when you're pushing 80
I've had to go to the teller twice in the last 6 months. Once was to move funds from a HELOC to pay for a roof. The other was to cash a 3rd party check. Both require you to go to the bank. Each time I noticed that every single party in front of me in line took at least 10 minutes to do whatever the fuck they were doing. Each of my transactions took like 3 minutes tops. What the fuck are these people doing? I try to listen but can't hear everything going on but it's like they decide to have long conversations with the tellers about their lives and their sister's life and what the weather is like. Then.. of course... when they are done the teller walks away and farts around at the copy machine for another 5 minutes before coming back to his booth... then spends another 5 minutes playing mahjong or something before waving the next person forward.
The most knowledgeable too. Well at least the likes of people who post here in January. The rubes that show up mid-April to bitch about the team after a random loss are stupid dipshits that can get fucked.
