  4. I've been working in fine dining restaurants for 20 years. Managing for 5. Had. I've seen all kinds of craziness in that time. My favorite was during the holidays last year. We had a lady who enjoyed herself a little too much at her company Christmas dinner. She went to use the restroom, leaving her purse at the table. As she was walking back to her table after pissing she went back to the restroom because she thought she left her purse in the stall. The stall was then occupied by another guest, a very sweet regular guest in her 70's. Businesswoman bangs on the door and demands her purse back. Regular informs her there is no purse in the stall and that the restroom is occupied. The woman proceeds to kick the stall door in, grabs the old lady (with her panties still around her ankles) and throws her through the glazed glass bathroom door. Our regular ended up with approximately 6 inch glass shard in her ass. She grabbed the other woman and dragged her through the door with her, so the aggressor ended up with another shard in her neck. Same night we had a party of around 20 guests. Their server managed to break a glass in her hand and had to go to the ER. The table was informed that their server had an accident and had to go to the hospital, and another server took over the table. They wrote a letter to corporate the next day saying they were discriminated against because of their race. Their specific complaints we're a delay in taking their order (due to a hospitalized server) and that we refused to let them use the women's restroom (due to broken glass and blood all over the room).
  5. I'm not buying the explanation that high schools are too big these days. Too many of these are in small rural towns like Italy Texas, Aztec New Mexico, and Benton Kentucky for that to be the cause
  6. And yet MLB did not start off with even an unwritten rule banning African Americans. That came decades later. If you want to go back to the "original" rules that wasn't one. It was arbitrarily added after the fact, like the DH
  7. There has never been a rule banning helmets or blacks from baseball
  8. Good Lord I grew up in Houston Goddammit. I know what number 34 means to each of our pro teams. I was trying to politely tell Slorch to check his numbers. (Now THAT'S blasphemy)
  9. Did Barkley wear 34 for us or is that Olajuwon?
  10. How did the hipster burn his mouth? He drank his coffee before it was cool

Good stuff is definitely coming out of Washington State. Also Paso Robles sounds very much your style. Fruity and softer tannins. Also much better prices. Justin or Daou do some great Cabs from there

I'll never understand the caymus hate from some wine snobs. They jacked the price through the roof https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/food/1998/07/15/caymus-consternation/36ad5a78-5f2b-4d29-b180-980043fcc485/?utm_term=.e9709e69e6d2

Doubleheaders every week won't fly. Owners hate them because they make less revenue and players hate them because they are exhausting. Can't start the season later because then the WS is in the middle of November. You can't play April games in warm weather cities for multiple reasons. Warm weather teams don't want all of their home games to be stacked in April and May when the crowds come in the Summer. Cold weather teams don't want to play on the road for a month before their home opener in May when they just finished spring training. Not to mention the worst attended teams in the sport are in Miami, Oakland, and Tampa so it likely wouldn't help attendance that much.
