Sprinters train to hit top speed at a certain point in the race and a well-trained 200 runner may never truly hit top speed. You can only hold it for a moment and then you begin to fade. 98% effort can obviously be held a while longer.
Any word on if smaller program prospects will be allowed to join in on the pro day of a nearby large program? If not, it's going to be a rough draft season for those guys.
It shouldn't be, but the politically aware players don't see it that way. Deserved or not, being a MAGA loyalist is a barrier to connecting with many minority/urban players and recruits. Perception is reality and all that jazz.
Imagine then winning the national championship and showing up to your new job the next morning. I would have insisted on at least a day to recover. Guess that's not why I didn't get the job.
We would be wise to bring in some ol' SWC alumni to explain the Arkansas mindset to our players. The players probably don't realize how much they talk about Texas given that we rarely talk about them.
It's totally baffling that Herman and his staff, on one hand, could make several great early evaluations on late risers every cycle, yet on the other hand, consistently fail to even pursue several elite players each cycle.
Tyler Owens, Vernon Broughton, and Prince Dorbah are all guys we need to take the next step this off season. We don't necessarily need them to become starters, but they need to be relied upon to come in and make a play in specific situations. That would really help the defense out.
This may have already been discussed, but what's the take on pursuing a grad transfer if Sam decides to not return? Seems to me like it would be a great way to avoid the scenario of Card starting with only a true freshman (project) backing him up.
I will to, but let's be realistic here. He's the opposite of LJH. Athletic yet lacking skill. Results will be about the same if he lands with a good fit.
If it is truly a 2020 asterisk of a season, why not give chaos a shot and put Cincy in? A&M and ND have already eliminated themselves with blowout losses to the two guaranteed playoff teams. Nobody trusts OU to put up a fight anymore. Let's roll the dice on an underdog!
High school kids run from the police for dumb reasons all the time, but we might want to just wait until NSD2 to let this play out. Won't make a difference in the long run.
