  1. I tried Brix BBQ in the Americado Food Hall on Saturday. The lean brisket, pork ribs, and homemade sausage were all excellent. The cilantro based coleslaw and ranch style beans were pretty good too. There is wait service, and one single menu/check for all of the food stands and the full bar. Much better set up than having to stand in line. Brix is only there weekends.
  2. Maybe Montgomery St. will be done by then!
  3. I'm sure Central Market would have prepared dinners if you were leaning towards the take home option.
  4. We flew out of Dulles after the Maryland game, and I have to say it is probably the cleanest and most organized airport I have ever flown through.
  5. I went to the recently reopened Sammie's BBQ on Belknap for lunch on Saturday after reading their new pitmaster is from La Barbecue. I had the two meat platter with two sides. The lean brisket was moist and tender, and the pork ribs were very good. Added bonus for me was the mustard potato salad which few places seem to get right, but this place does.
  6. I went there last week and can report that the gumbo is legit.
  7. I plan to give it a shot soon since I work downtown, but for me, it will be hard to beat Hop Fusion.
  8. Long time lurker and Arlington Heights resident here. Went to Barrel and Bones in Montgomery Plaza last night. Brisket was way under-cooked, and a can of Community Witbier was $7. Even though the service was excellent and the owner engaging, I probably won't be back.
