Big 12 offenses are scheme dependent, so I would not count on QB or WR turnover to make things materially easier on our defenders. In some respects, the learning curve for DB’s is steeper than it is for offenses as they have multiple potential responsibilities based on the coverage call. Now, if coaches like Riley or Holgo move on and those schools have to implement new schemes then that could certainly make things easier for a period of time.
Roach plays hard/well when it suits him. The coach is supposed to demand some level of consistency, at least with regards to effort. Roach isn’t any sort of proof that Shaka can develop players. He’s actually proof that Shaka isn’t getting the players to buy in.
With a 4 year sample size, it’s very easy to draw long term conclusions. He’s making the same mistakes in perpetuity, which suggests either a lack of self awareness or an inability to fix the underlying problems. In either case, there is sufficient grounds to relieve him of his duties.
You’re probably right, but this is a higher scoring league due to PPR, yardage bonuses, etc. CMC dropped 50 one week, but I couldn’t find a higher output for a RB. It’d take a fairly incomprehensible performance to hit 64. I’ll still feel better once the game is over.
Entered the championship matchup undefeated and having outscored the rest of this 10 team league by 300 points over the course of the year. Drafting Mahomes, Hill, Kelce, and McCaffrey had more than a little something to do with that. Signing Damien Williams off waivers a couple of weeks ago didn't hurt my playoff performances any. For this week, I had to find plugs for OBJ and Tyler Boyd at WR, and rolled with Robby Anderson (yes!) and Pettis (furk) off waivers.
I'm up 64 points and my opponent is down to Phillip Lindsay. Things are trending my way, but I've learned to never call it until the final whistle of the week.
I really hope our plan is not to sit back and absorb pressure from City for the last 15-20 minutes of this match. We need to continue to look for credible opportunities to counter as I don't see us being able to absorb unmitigated pressure for that stretch of time.
Sarri opting to play Hazard as a false 9 in the biggest match of the early season speaks volumes. This squad is so unbalanced thanks to shitty decision making by the board.
I’m confident that the athletics department can’t and/or won’t foot the full bill for the buyout. If CDC wants to remove Shaka, he’ll have to put feelers out to big money to see how much they are willing to fork over to expedite Shaka’s exit. I’d be super interested to see how important basketball relevancy is to that crowd, as I’ve long operated under the assumption that the answer to that question is “not very”. If I’m right, he’ll stick around for at least another year. If I’ve misjudged it, we’ll be in the market for a new coach.
So, on the one hand I am happy to see them opening up discussions. On the other, I’m very nervous that we’re going to fuck this up royally by low balling in an effort to save some cash. We have a history here, and the fact that we are now making legitimate bids will motivate competing clubs with an interest to take action. Let’s not fuck this one up, Chelsea.
They say the truth hurts, and I would point to jhawk’s post as evidence of just that. Ouch. To clarify, I can see scenarios where parts of his post will (hopefully) prove wrong. That said, it does paint a painful picture of how bad Shaka’s contract really is for UT. Patterson was so fucking awful.
Let's be clear here, you provoked me. My post had nothing to do with you. It was a macro level observation about Surly and the broader Texas fan base. Period. You chose to 1) internalize that shit (after all, it's Derka's world and we're just living in it) and 2) come back at me with your usual stupid fucking bullshit ranting. Once you did that, I decided to call your fucking ass on it and off we went. I've never denied that I can't stand you, and I'm hardly alone in feeling that way. I've just largely decided to spare everyone else, as watching you throw shit fits all over this board is a fucking beating for most people.
Hahahahaha. Derka threw a hissy fit and went on a neg rep rampage. You really hated my posts in the Bourbon for sale thread huh? You found my post about smoking duck for Thanksgiving personally offensive somehow? You know what? If doing that helped you blow off some steam and balanced your estrogen levels then I guess I’m happy for you.
Go back and read the original post, numb nuts. Where did I advocate that Shaka deserves patience or more time? Where did I say that there was a lot to be discovered? I said that the decision to keep him or fire him will be based on conference play and the tournament and not the bad loss to Radford. That’s it. I don’t think Shaka is going to make it here. He’s deep in the failure curve and hitting the wall like a motherfucker. It’s unlikely that he’s going to be able to push through, but the rest of the season is going to play out before anything happens. CDC’s decision won’t be made on the basis of any one game, and certainly not a non conference game at the end of November. Reading comprehension, how does it work? Also, as you can clearly see from this exchange, I’m perfectly capable of “handling” your ranting and raving. You are nothing more than a blowhard with a personality disorder and a keyboard. I’ve chosen not to invest any of my personal time dealing with it because it just fuels your manic fire.
