  1. What’s a dog thread without pictures, he was our goofball
  2. We had a Malinois that we lost a couple years ago. He was not protection trained but was an awesome dog and had some natural protective instincts. He was much more protective and aggressive when I was not at home. I’d do a lot of research before getting a trained dog. The first is cost I’ve seen fully trained going for close to $20k or more. Second is follow up training and cost. Third would be your wife’s suitability to maintain dominance on an aggressive alpha dog. Fourth would be family integration, a friend has a retired service Mal that she has to keep kenneled during the day because it has went through the front glass window multiple times to get after people in the front yard or on the sidewalk. Ours busted our storm door open one day and chased someone down the street. He also jumped and grabbed our neighbors arm when he stuck it over our 6’ stockade fence. This is a neighbor that he was cuddling with a couple days earlier. When we lose our Border Collie we will probably have another Mal but it will not be fully trained.
  3. We’re not. We already had the Roku before we ordered the Recast. We did the combo deal with the Recast, Fire Stick and antennae that basically gave you a free Fire stick. Looking back we might have been able to save a little by going with the Fire Recast Combo and skipping the Roku. We haven’t tried streaming through the Fire Stick yet but have been blown away by the Roku. I also much prefer the direct app buttons on the Roku remote.
  4. New Mexico.
  5. My dog only drinks bottled water.
  6. I bought some FZROX in my HSA today based on what I’ve learned on Boglehead. Thanks for the education and theories Mr. Bogle.
  7. We haven’t used it much yet still trying to clean up the cable DVR before returning it. The wife went through and set all of her shows to record on it and liked the interface. We streamed the local news right after we set it up and everything was painless. I was surprised that the antenna it came with was dedicated for the box, I had expected to be able to double it for OTA without WiFi. May have just been an oversight on my part, ordered another $10 ultralight antenna for OTA I’ll try to remember to update in a few months of use
  8. We are right on the goal line for cutting the cords after years of me being pissed every time I saw the cable bill. We picked up a Roku Ultra on Black Friday, I was amazed at how much better the streaming is than through the PS4. We ordered the Amazon Fire DVR and got it set up last week. We have a regular antenna waiting to be installed this week and just signed up for 2 months of Sling to get the free Roku stick. I’m thinking this weekend or next will be the drop date. Looking like about a $150-200 savings.
  9. Spoiler that shit. I’m trying to eat breakfast
  10. I think we have a winner

We have a thread for that, still waiting for the pics.
  12. Fox Houston is saying it may be gang related. I couldn’t get the tweet to embed.

I plan to get laid sometime between now and 12/31/2019. #MarriedLife
  16. I’d find a hotel room or a girlfriend until the dogs are gone.
  17. Apply from the distance of your choosing and the smoke alarm shouldn’t bother you anymore
  18. Calling @relapse98, @relapse98 to aisle 7.
  19. Smith has the 380 EZ that was designed to be easy to run the slide and operate. It had an early recall but may be lined out by now. If this is a house gun instead of a carry gun I’d recommend a K frame, L frame, or GP100 over a J frame. Recoil will be substantially less and the longer sight radius easier to shoot.
  20. Picked these up for myself for Christmas, I had narrowed several options down to these two and couldn’t make a final decision so the wife just said to get them both. I’m experimenting with moving from polymers back to metal and the 92 is another step. The M60 should move into carry duty replacing a well worn M642.
  21. Not so fast. Canadian oil sands have been selling for a negative the past few months. https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/oil-sands-bitumen-prices-are-actually-in-negative-territory-analyst-1.1151813
  22. We have a standing rule that any no show that does not reach out after a couple days to acknowledge/apologize that they stood us up is no longer invited to anything that we host.
