Great Western Movies
All due respect to the master, and I love Yojimbo. But if I’m firing one up for a rewatch, it’s good bad and the ugly.

Very good list, although not having the dollar trilogy is a crime

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
You can nit pick all you want, but every skill position player and offensive coach on this team would crawl through glass to have last year’s offensive line.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
QFT. Last year’s offensive line was flawed, sure, but still quite good at pass pro and serviceable at run blocking. This year’s offensive line has at times been closer to the Tristan Nickelson and Cam Hughes offensive lines of yore.

The movie you just watched
I found Hoop Dreams to be pretty devastating. Agee's dad and Gates's brother in particular (and pretty painful to google those two afterwards). Agee's mom was amazing, and hearing her describe the struggles of her life was pretty heartbreaking. It reminded me of Minding the Gap, which ostensibly is a DIY skateboarding documentary, but - like Hoop Dreams - is really a snapshot of a particular type of lower class American life. Highly recommend for those who haven't seen.

2025 CFB Polls/Rankings Thead
They can say that all they want, but we are absolutely being punished for the Ohio St. loss to some degree. If we were sitting at 8-1 with a Louisiana Monroe win in place of the Ohio St loss, we would almost certainly be ahead of Notre Dame, Oregon, Tech and BYU. We are definitely still being compared to other 2 loss teams and not 1 loss teams.

The 2025 CFP Regular Season Is 3/4s Finished - What Do You Think?
I would rank it as follows. 1. OSU 2. Indiana 3. A&M 4. Bama 5. Georgia 6. Ole Miss 7. Oregon 8. BYU 9. Tech 10. Texas 11. OU 12. Notre Dame

The movie you just watched
Finally watched Hoop Dreams. Been on my list for years. Phenomenal movie.

Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Have you happened to pay attention to surlyhorns.com throughout this season? Not so hard to image such a situation.

Texas vs. Vanderbilt - 11am on ABC
I think it was the overhead view that got the call upheld. There was a shot where it seems like a smidge of the football may have grazed a smidge of the white line, so call on the field stood. The parallax error from the pylon cam makes it seem more egregious than it probably was. Having said that, I usually role my eyes when sports fans complain about officials cheating and what not. Yesterday and the infamous OSU game are the only times I can remember being truly stunned at the level of bad whistle we received.

A sniveling cunt of a poster- The movie you just watched
I needed a palate cleanser after the house of dynamite debacle, so fired up Fail Safe for the first time. Incredible movie, highly recommend.- Netflix Recommendations
Act 1: This fucking rips, let’s go! Act 2: ok, not great, but Tracey Letts is cooking, I’m still hanging in there, can’t wait to see how this wraps up. Act 3: Did the POTUS just cite to a podcast while humanity is on the brink of extinction? Holy fucking shit haha what a stupid fucking movie. Don't regret watching.- Why Does Mississippi State Exist?
- The Athletic Scoops Sark interested in NFL Jobs
Certainly left me laughing in disbelief- Halloween/Horror Movie Thread
I keep hearing about Kidprint. I’ve missed the boat on VHS for some reason, but seems like I need to give this one at least a whirl. Is it required to watch the wrapper and the other segments, or is kidprint standalone?- The movie you just watched
For those into this sort of thing, every disc at criterion is half off today only. Some awesome 4Ks and box sets relatively cheap.- Halloween/Horror Movie Thread
The Devils (1971). Depraved (and naked) nuns, fornication, exorcisms, politics, religion. Outstandingly demented.- Halloween/Horror Movie Thread
Watched Mandy, 2018 flick with Nic Cage and Andrea Riseborough. The first half was an extreme Lynchian psych horror that I quite liked. Second half turns into a revenge horror that I found pretty boring.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
I will be stunned if we claw our way to 8-4. Beating any of Georgia, Vandy or A&M would be shocking at this point, and Miss St. is going to be a dog fight.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
8-4 is the ceiling at this point. Find a way to scrape together wins against Miss St and Arkansas. Both will be painfully close. Zero chance of beating Georgia, and pretty close to zero chance of beating A&M and Vandy.- Daniel Day Lewis shooting next film right now
I saw Phantom Thread at the brooklyn academy of music opera house with a live orchestra performing the score. One of the great movie going experiences of my life. - Tell me about New York City
