I think you’re right about other SEC teams looking the other way on bagmen. The problem a&m is going to have is when they recruit against former Big XII teams. If Patterson, Riley, Herman, etc ever gather enough evidence to turn it over to the NCAA, I don’t think they’ll hesitate. This is probably something a&m hasn’t thought of. I can see them walking right into this. Let’s not forget Chip Kelly and Willie Lyles.
Damn, brought a tear to my eyes watching those kids play and imaging how proud their parents must be. Can we get back to hating the coaches, so I can properly prepare for my day.
This is exactly what I said. Did you even read my original post? Sorry if I’m thinking long term. Sams inability to read the whole field cost us this game and others. It’s no secret that we’ve had open receivers open all season. If Sam is the best we have next September, I’m all in. If you can’t handle this take, stay in the mailroom and leave the heavy thinking to those of us that can.
No problem. I said might. But only if somebody beats him out. Who knows what we have in Rising or Thompson. We can’t keep playing only half of the field and expect to win much.
Watch the 4th quarter again and watch Sams eyes. He locks in on one side of the field and rarely looks off, unless he’s got enough time to scramble. Safety was a perfect example of what I’m talking about. But don’t be so hard on yourself.
Herman made it pretty clear last year that he doesn’t want to call plays. Beck was a failure last year, so he had to take over this year or go 6-5 again. Hopefully he’s bringing in Beaty to take over next year. Just connecting the dots.
There’s receivers open nearly every play. Unless Sam learns to see the whole field next year, I hate to say this, but he might need to lead from the bench. I’m sure Herman is aware of this and does something about it.
I agree with ya. But if you need a bowl win for this to be a successful season, Georgia might not be a good matchup for us this year. They’re looking pretty good against Bama right now.
Then we should probably be pulling for the Sugar Bowl to pass us by. I don’t think we’d match up well against Georgia. If OU’s defense can rattle our offense, can you imagine what Goergia’s would do.
you can’t entirely blame this game on the refs. We made a ton of stupid, stupid mistakes. And can Sam not look at both sides of the field? He either looks left or he looks right, but he never looks left and right. That safety was a prime example. He was looking left from the snap and never saw an unguarded Colin Johnson when his man blitzed. This has to be fixed by next year or Sam needs to sit. There’s no excuse to have to dumb down an offense for a QB at Texas. You have to make a defense pay when they blitz like that.
I knew it was over for Charlie when the video of him nonchalantly riding his bicycle in the locker room appeared. I figured there had to be some details that needed his attention that were being neglected.
