For Houston, the positions that make the most sense to me in the first are DT (in large part because there's some high upside guys in this draft who might fall into the mid 20s), WR, OG (there's some OG/OT types, who'd be particularly great fits if Houston sticks with the OZ offense), TE (my Tyler Warren dream has died, he ain't making it to #25), and to a lesser extent S Here's some names that could make sense at each one of those at #25. Some of these names probably have a low likelihood of making it to #25, although there's always a couple of guys who fall for whatever reason and get scooped up by the Eagles, Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs, etc DT: Walter Nolen Kenneth Grant Derrick Harmon TJ Sanders Jordan Philliams Tyleik Williams OG: Kelvin Banks Armand Membou Tyler Booker Donovan Jackson Jonah Savaiinaea Wyatt Milum WR: Emeka Egbuka Luther Burden Matthew Golden TE: Colston Loveland S: Malaki Starks Nick Emmanwori

I could see them taking Egbuka there if they go WR. He's a plug and play WR2, which they need now with Diggs being a free agent and Tank probably taking two years to get back to where he was Of course, we don't even know what offense they're going to run right now

Fwiw, he actually has a high pressure rate, he just struggled to convert those into sacks. Some teams might look at that and think they can turn those into sacks, and some might look at that and think consistent pressures are good enough at that pick. Also, draft twitter/fans always underrate power rushing from the edge compared to what the NFL sees. Coaches value edges who'll bully lighter tackles or TEs/RBs, and at Shemar's size he'll potentially offer that I think he starts to become a surplus value pick in the second half of the round. Taking him first overall over Aiden Hutchinson is a different story

He’s huge and athletic. His lack of production is priced in and is why he’s not a top five pick

    He'll do whichever makes sense
  9. Yes hiring from the coaching tree isn't necessarily a bad thing. Others in the tree can potentially do better than Slowik, and if you stay within the tree, Kubiak naturally will be a candidate Hiring from a different tree that has different (arguably better) rules for pass pro is intriguing though. I think the OL is set up for a different run scheme too, outside of the light center(s)
  10. I saw a report saying that the assistant OL coach (don't remember who reported it) was also let go, but that appears to be inaccurate https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1882883757268746365
  11. Firing the both the OL coach and assistant OL coach makes me think it won't be an internal hire It'll be an outside OC who'll pick an OL coach who fits his offense, imo

  13. First question is, are they staying in the McShanahan tree that about a third of the league is in now, or are they zagging? Either way, the OC needs to be aligned with the OL coach
  14. While I think it's the right move, I'm surprised Demeco pulled the trigger. They don't want to waste Stroud's rookie contract

Daniel Jeremiah went on Mcafee and some clips that made their way into my timeline had him saying - Has Will Howard as a top 50 pick right now but needs to do a deeper - Carter is the best prospect in the draft - Milroe will be a day two pick - League is split on Sheduer - Quinn had a disappointing year
  16. Fud replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
I think it’s more likely they just don’t understand Houston roster
  17. Fud replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
I think they’ll just take a guard. Maybe it’ll be a guard with tackle flexibility like Donovan Jackson, but it makes no sense to spend premium resources on four tackles
  18. Fud replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
I think Tet is a stud. Young Mike Evans
  19. It was both, imo
  20. Tee Higgins will be too expensive I'd want to keep Fatukasi, if he's not too expensive
  21. I think interior OL is a biggest issue than WR2 Shore the OL up, and everything else on offense gets easier
  22. Fud replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
That's the second recent mock I've seen that has Houston taking an OT in the first.. which is absurd. They already have three OTs.

These would both be plug and play starters for Houston day one. I'd prefer Warren or a high end DT, but these are fine options too
  25. It's always nice when Pelosi buys a stock that you're holding and then it goes up 25+% immediately after it's disclosed
