2025 NFL Draft
Houston first round talents that meet needs where they're drafting at 25 and then 58 TE: Tyler Warren, Colston Loveland. Warren seems unlikely at our pick , Loveland seems possible. Fannin Jr and Taylor are interesting in the 2nd round, although they might need a better blocking type than Fannin Jr. Maybe Helm could make sense in the 4th? OG: Armand Membou, Tyler Booker, Donovan Jackson. Membou and Jackson would fit OZ due to athleticism, while Booker seems to be more of a road grader who could signal a Rams type of change to running at the spine of the defense. I prefer to pass on this position in the first and take one in the 2nd or 3rd while adding a startable vet; an option in the 2nd could be Marcus Mbow. There's also two 2nd round centers, although would Houston take another center early? WR: Egbuka. This would be adding a cheap good WR2 for at least the next four years, and he'd instantly improve the offense, in a similar fashion to Minnesota adding Jordan Addison. Drafting one in the 1st-2nd would mean they like this guy much more than what they current have outside of Collins. There won't be as much talent in the late 2nd at the position as you're typically accustomed to seeing, but the Tre Harris pick could make sense DL: Shemar Stewart, Derick Harmon, Tyleik Williams, Kenneth Grant, Nolen Smith. Both San Francisco when Demeco was there and New England with Caserio was there preferred length on the DL, but Demeco also likes juice/burst disruption (BB liked more holding down two-gaps types). I think a high upside DT hitting could send this defense to a next level, and there are some interesting options here. Typically truly difference making DTs need to have high upside athletic traits which is why they're usually only found in the top round and a half, while these other positions might be easier to fill in the 3rd or later. I think Deone Walker could be an option in the 2nd (or any of the others if they fall)

It speaks to how weak this WR class is. Also I think most teams would still take Tet McMillan over him- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor

wut- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
The impetus was losing their starting LT and C and then getting their shit pushed in by Michigan's DL, and then having three weeks to change it up Chip Kelly (and his protégé Ryan Day) already knew how to run all of the variety of counter and other gap runs, and how to tack on RPOs, eye candy, and playaction, it was just a matter of majoring in it once the OL got reshuffled- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
It's a particularly weak class considering how strong recent WR classes have been- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor

Donaldson might have brain flu mush, and if Texas is going out for a RB1, they should get someone who's reliable Fwiw, I'll go with 6th round for Blue- 2024 Week 17 - Cotton Bowl CFP Semifinal Texas vs Ohio State
An important note for this game for those who didn't read Connelly's preview "Perhaps most importantly, will Texas be able to get off the field on third downs? Despite the receiver talent, Ohio State converts just 23.3% of its third-and-longs (7 or more yards to go), 85th nationally. Texas allows just a 15.2% conversion rate on third-and-longs (sixth). Five of Howard's nine interceptions have come on third down as well. It's hard to push Ohio State behind schedule, but when it happens you must take full advantage." Get Howard to 3rd and 7+- Why Ohio State Stomps a Mudhole In Texas' Ass
The week to week change in the betting market is interesting. Going into last week Fanduel had the line at Texas -1.5 over Ohio State based on a sample size of 13-14 games for both teams (now at -6, give or take half a point). That's a ton of movement in a week without a QB injury or a cluster of injuries at a position A lot of professional gamblers would bet Texas there just for that inherent value between the moving average and the current line- Why Ohio State Stomps a Mudhole In Texas' Ass
Bravo- 2024 Axis of Evil (OU, ARK, aggy) Gameday Thread
Not that I'm aware of. The model nerds seemingly don't want to subjectively tinker with their models for injuries, which are difficult to quantify in college football. The best you'll get is someone on a gambling show saying how much they adjusted their power ranking, or just watching for betting line adjustments- 2025 NFL Draft

My bad, I misread and thought you were talking about for next year- 2024 Houston Texans Season Thread
It's the NFL. Almost anything can be fixed in a season. Add a new OL coach who fits with the (hopefully new) OC and who knows what he's doing, add a new body or two, and the OL could see a dramatic improvement Pittsburgh, LAC, and Denver are all winnable- 2024 Houston Texans Season Thread
I think they need to sign a free agent to immediately start at guard, and they also need to draft an OL early to eventually replace Mason, who's been playing injured all year and who may or may not return to form Also useful high in the draft would be a high upside DT and another TE- 2025 NFL Draft
