It's absolute lunacy that in a state as big and as rich as Texas you cant watch the UIL State Championship basketball game live on any cable or broadcast channel. The UIL has their collective heads up their ass.
Not only that, but keep the staff from joining Beard in Mississippi. I really like this staff and with him as coach he can replace his spot as an assistant with another high level recruiter or another top flight X's & O's guy (Mark Adams anyone). I'm still in the camp of wanting to see an elite 8 or final 4 appearance to keep him, but I understand if he gets kept with a sweet 16 appearance seeing as how we haven't done that in nearly 15 years.
You're kinda stretching things if you're including Stanford in that list of legit opponents. By that standard KU nearly doubled us in their number of legit noncon opponents all while playing in the same conference as us.
Are the championship games going to be broadcast anywhere? Typically the 6A championship game gets a live broadcast on Bally's sports (formerly Fox sports Southwest), but I can't find anything anywhere other than the bullshit NFHS network webcast, which requires a subscription. I guess the U.I.L is back to its former ways of blockading anything that's not high school football in an effort to dissuade high school boys from playing anything but high school football.
The 2011 win over KU at the phog is about the only thing comparable. We were down 11 and went on a run that put us as much as 16 or 17 and won by 11 on the road. That 33 to 11 run was absolutely splendid.
Yes. we swept them in Shaka's last year. And back before we played them in 2 the regular season games, I believe Barnes beat KU at home during the regular season and then again in the tourney during his early years on the 40.
Roach was a dumbass, but athletic as hell. There's no comparison between the 2 as far as who was better at basketball.
...Taylor by leaps and bounds.

I get what you're saying because of their shooting ability and lack of upper level athleticism, but Glendon didn't have near the handle that Tre has. Of course a lot of that has to do with the difference in the way the game is played now compared to back then, but I don't remember Alexander being near as smooth or as fluid as Tre. One guy always thought was similar to Glendon back in the day and who ultimately had a better college career was Ryan Mendez. Nobody thought to compare them because of their racial differences but having played against both of them growing up I thought they were similarly skilled players.
Tre is a good enough athlete, but he's clearly not overwhelming. He is, however, highly skilled. Easily the most skilled 2 guard Ive seen at his age in a long time.
We had 7 total turnovers for the entire game yesterday and like only 3 in the first half. How does that equate into SEVERAL SLOPPY turnovers and a poorly played game. Some people are just determined to see the worst regardless of what actually took place.
