And he would still be coaching a Jerry/Stephen Jones-managed organization.
Payton wouldn't stand a chance against that type of inertia. It's like "the Nothing" from The Neverending Story.
It's hard to answer the question with the context of "I keep hearing conservatives saying that the reason for the labor shortage (and thus price increases and inflation) is because the government is paying people to stay home."
It's also difficult to reconcile the claim that the government is paying people to stay home when unemployment claims are at 2MM which is consistent with pre-pandemic levels. The latest unemployment rate is ~4% which again, reflects a longer term pre-pandemic rate. A closer scrutiny of the broader unemployment rates (underemployment) would be helpful for the discussion.
But suffice it to say that there's a benefit to conservatives to push this narrative and "welfare queens" has been a winning electoral strategy for decades. But the easily available data doesn't support such a simplistic explanation. Brisket is right, this is a complicated answer.
Gambling will likely be the biggest source of growth in league revenues over the next decade; even larger than the increase in broadcast fees in the latest tv rights package. Players will benefit enormously from the gambling revenue generated by the league via cap expansion. Do you really think the this is the hill the NFLPA wants to die on?
You find it hypocritical for an employer to require their employees to avoid conflicts of interest? I can't think of a more obvious example of a legal conflict of interest than gambling on games in a league in which you're an active player. The precedent was set over a century ago. It's the one cardinal rule across every sport.
Don't fucking bet on games in the sport in which you make a fucking living.
He's been on the front lines for a while now. Here he is trying to liberate Californians from the tyrannical oppression of Jason, assistant supervisor at Newt's local Costco.
What do the polling numbers reflect about Canadian sentiment of the truckers' grievances? Or perhaps the Canadian Trucking Alliance?
I assume that the Canada Teamsters are supportive of the convoy as well, right?
