I know what you're saying and it looks 'miserable' on the outside.....but when you're on a hockey team with great chemistry and making a run at the Cup, your teammates are your friends and family. These guys are going to look back at this years from now and remember it as one of the highlights (and lowlights) of their life.
When you're on a hockey team with a great group of guys, you carry that the rest of your life.
As Fred Shero once said 'Win today, we walk together forever.' Even with a loss, these Dallas players will have a bond from here on out.
This was a great run.
No kidding. If you're referring to Northlands, great sheet.
Speaking of great ice....believe it or not...the old Fair Park Coliseum in the mid-90's. Like glass. Worst ice? Waco Heart a Texas Barn. Jesus.
Stamkos may not be 'back' but it's pretty impressive to pick up a geno in - what? - 2? 3 shifts? In comparison, Seguin had 21 minutes of ice time - more than Oettinger - and came away with a whopping 3 shots. That Tampa locker room is rocking having him back.
I think Dallas is done. Tampa is the better team.
Boy, has the NHL changed.
That Maroon shot into the bench was bush league bull shit. Would have been a fun line brawl in the minors ten minutes into that next period.
North Stars playing smart thus far.
So we lost Jimi Hendrix 50 years ago today......a tremendous loss for music. Imagine what he would have created had we had another four years of his career.
What musician's death had the biggest impact on you personally?
Dan Rosen - Tyler Seguin just said Anton Khudobin reminds him of Tim Thomas. That's pretty spot on, I think, in terms of how they play and what they've been through to get to the big moment.
Heck, if Tampa keeps playing 9 forwards, Dallas has a shot to win the whole shabang.
Leave it to the Stars to do it during the one year we can’t attend games.
I think we're witnessing a legit Conn Smythe performance out of Lehner.
Speaking of goaltending, it's been fun watching the youngsters in this year's tournament. Demko is an intriguing keeper moving forward.
Boy, is Dallas benefitting from adding some veteran leadership in that dressing room.
Here's my prediction for the rest of the playoffs:
The Canadians will continue to run a first-rate tournament with zero infections.
Tampa will win the Cup over Vegas in six.
The idiots in Florida will throw a massive championship parade with no masks or social distancing. Covid, be damned.
I should of said not getting past Tampa. You're right that they're peaking at the right time. They're really clicking and playing disciplined right now (exception being that tripping call in the OT). But Tampa seems like the team this year.....as much as I hate to say that. Would love to see an Isles/Canucks final
As an OKC fan, I think Houston wins game 7. Too much talent.
But I think the most surreal aspect of this series has been coming over and reading the criticisms of Westbrook and Harden. It was so frustrating watching Russ year after year. Have to say I enjoyed the end of that Game 6.
The Isles are fun to watch. I don't think I've ever - in 40 years - met an Islanders fan outside of New York.....but I'm thinking they may have some fans this summer.
Hopefully they can get past Philly and Tampa but I'm not expecting it.
