2021 Fall Camp Thread - Bend Over & I’ll Continue Showing You
I thought I remembered that as well. Casey looked really good in that game but had some luck as well. Half a game should not decide who plays. Gotta trust the coaches to evaluate and compare both players over a long period of time in a variety of situations

They got Worthy, and we don't know what will happen with Whittington, Moore, or Omiere. Shipley was hurt until he wasn't.

New Mobile App Live! Uninstall Tapatalk.
Probably going back to tapa. Or I guess I'll try the mobile web interface first. On the new app, the swipe/bar navigation is just too finicky. I'll be scrolling through and accidentally hit it, and all of the sudden I'm viewing stuff from 2 years ago. Or I want to go to the last 2 pages, and it's really hard to tell how far to swipe. Also can't pinch to zoom, and Twitter has problems.

This is incredible. I can't believe I've missed it for this long. Tapa is terrible. I've put up with it for a while, but the new audio ads, with no obvious way to disable sound globally, for all ads, has pissed me off too much. No going back.

Jake Ehlinger OD Discussion and Information
Xanax basically killed a good friend. Ruined his life, marriage, relationship with kids, job, future, etc. He's probably predisposed to addiction, but it took him down hard, and he's never gotten back up. I wouldn't touch the stuff.

Jake Ehlinger found dead near campus
I see two very short threads on this topic over there and not much in the way of speculation. One post relating a specific account for what happened. It may be second-hand info, but it's not speculation. And one post stating "it could be this or it could be that." I guess that one is speculation, but it's pretty general and obvious.

Geez, thanks a lot. Just when I thought the dust had cleared, I've got dust in my eyes again. Seriously, that beautiful and timely. Hook 'em.

I agree with all of this, which is why I got the shot asap.

COVID-19 vaccine discussion
I don't know, except to say that it's not unheard of, in the course of history, that something everyone presumed and believed to be safe turned out to be unsafe with the benefit of experience. I'll give one example. Ranitidine was sold over the counter for years and was fully tested, understood, and known to be safe.... until we learned that it turns carcinogenic when stored at higher temperatures. Who could have predicted that? If someone takes a "wait and see" approach to MRNA vaccines, I've made a different decision, but I'm not going to fault them for doing what they believe is best for them.
-
COVID-19 vaccine discussion
If someone is concerned specifically about the long-term effects of MRNA vaccines, then yes, I would assume they'd be OK with the J&J vaccine. I haven't heard as much bitching about the J&J vaccine. Apparently it has its own set of problems if you get vaccinated and then stand under a 5g tower. /s

COVID-19 vaccine discussion
I'm pro-vaccine and already got Pfizer #1. That said, I have a very hard time judging/faulting people who don't want the MRNA vaccines. We don't have a long history of results with MRNA vaccines to prove that there are no long-term side effects. It's something of a gamble. Who am I to say how someone else should balance all the risks to his/her health?

COVID-19 vaccine discussion
I guess I disagree. If the vulnerable population is vaccinated, then there is not much risk to them from being around unvaccinated people. That's one reason why the guidelines prioritized access to vulnerable populations. Getting them vaccinated was the priority. The risk is that the vulnerable population cannot get vaccines because everybody else is cutting in line. However, I have no problem with people going to clinics at the end of the day and getting leftovers to prevent them from going in the trash.

COVID-19 vaccine discussion
As I saw it, the governor's decision increased the risk for vulnerable populations and made it all the more important to postpone shots for people, like me, who are under 50 and have no chronic health conditions. I'm a "science first" guy, and, despite anecdotes to the contrary, the science shows that covid won't kill me and probably won't make me very sick.

COVID-19 vaccine discussion
Dude, I did exactly the same thing. I tried to sign up several times in early March, but when I got to the screen asking me to check that I had a chronic condition, I just couldn't do it knowing that there are legit 1a and 1b trying to get a shot. I couldn't live with the hypocrisy of me supporting masks and even shutdowns to protect the vulnerable and then fucking them over by lying to get my own vaccine. But yesterday, when it opened to the public, I went to HEB's site, checked that I'm in "group 2," played the F5 game on HEB for a couple of hours, and had the Pfizer #1 shot in my arm by the afternoon.

The Trial of Derek Chauvin
It's admissible as an alternative explanation for the death, right? They'd argue that yes, it looks bad, but the cause of death was an OD, not lack of oxygen, and the knee to the throat did not have anything to do with the death. Which we all know is 100% bullshit. But how else do you try to raise a reasonable doubt?

The Trial of Derek Chauvin
I don't see it working, but I agree you'd have to go down every path the judge would allow.
