  1. I chuckled. I went to Rice for undergrad 20 years ago and did some unspeakable things in this place. A true Houston icon.
  2. Yep. He wore his Santa hat, a red shirt and his Santa glasses. He was wearing (too) short khaki shorts with all this. So, yeah, it was obvious.
  3. Not sure what the highlight was for me this year: A) My brother-in-law got engaged, and his soon to be father-in-law is a mall Santa. At first it was kind of cool for my kids to talk to "Santa", but then every restaurant or other outing we had, there was a line of kids and their parents wanting to take pictures with him. Got old quick. B) My other brother-in-law (early 50s, sells animal feed for a living, militant right wing, 3 guns on him at any point in time) shows up Christmas eve completely plastered (however that didn't stop him from driving his family there in his F250), and spent the whole night explaining to everyone why North Shore was able to win the high school football championship because they had the right mix of "athletes" (errr....) and enough latinos to find a good kicker.
  4. It's almost like NS won despite some questionable coaching. The run game wasn't working, yet in the 3rd quarter that's all they tried to do, with very limited success. Then on defense, they knew Jackson wasn't going to pass the ball - should have stacked the box.
  5. LOS talk not going away
  6. Probably the first of at least 2, maybe three straight for NS. Still very young.
  7. Wow! What a finish!!
  8. What position does Jackson play in college? Receiver?
  9. Wow, NS is getting clobbered by penalties
  10. Los Lobos de Longview
  11. I haven't watched them too much this year (aside from the Allen game), but this is probably the first game they've matched up against a physically/athletically equal (or superior) team.
  12. What's scary is North Shore's best players are all underclassmen. This could be a 2-3 year run.
  13. Ravishing's picks: 6A Div 1: North Shore 6A Div 2: Longview 5A Div 1: Highland Park 5A Div 2: Fort Bend Marshall
  14. Ok cool. Have it in a central place like Austin.
  15. After watching both Card and Jackson play yesterday, umm yeah I’d prefer Jackson.
  16. Yeah agreed. It’s a big home field advantage to play the championships every year at AT&T. Just look a few years ago when they played at the Texans stadium and mostly Houston teams won. Really unfair to the rest of the state. And I say this as a resident of highland park so we certainly benefit. UIL probably get more money there so that’s probably your reason.
  17. Alvin Shadow Creek made the state final in their first year and plays Highland Park. I know Shadow Creek is right next to Manvel (and in the same Alvin isd) but are there any players from last years Manvel team that now play for Shadow Creek? Last years Manvel vs Hp was perhaps the best game I’ve ever seen.
  18. Lake Travis looks like a JV team compared to North Shore.
  19. Highland Park is humiliating Denton Ryan, now 29-7.
  20. North Shore vs. Lake Travis - this should be a fun one. I'll take North Shore.
  21. I’m surprised he didn’t wait a little longer to give the Aggies a chance to showcase their program’s skills in the Tax Slayer.com bowl.
  22. My pops played baseball at Rice. and to the OP, I played baseball against Scott Podsednik growing up (I was in Waco, he was in West). Very fast dude.
  23. Ehlinger offseason 2018: mastery of avoiding dumbass interceptions Ehlinger offseason 2019: mastery of the slide
  24. Wright would have been a great pickup - I very much agree with everybody here. However, Jake Smith and Jordan Whittington are both elite, so I'm not going to throw a tantrum about our WR class. I'm more concerned about our D-line and landing a top RB.
